"Warty" problem: Genital warts can be treated and removed so that they do NOT return. There are medications like Aldara, (imiquimod) Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and an old one, Podophyllin that can be applied repetitively. Surgical options are Cryotherapy (freezing), lasering, and physical removal. Herpes, as a virus, tends to come back over and over again not the HPV(wart) virus. Warts: Plantar warts and genital warts are both caused by hpv, however, they are caused by different strains of the virus. These different strains tend to stay isolated to only certain areas of the body. It is unlikely that your plantars warts caused genital warts or vice versa. ...Read more

No, not for life: The immune system clears HPV, although it can take up to 2 years. You can assume your BF has already been infected and even might be the source of your infection (you'll never know). Probably he'll never have symptoms, but should keep an eye out for warts. LSIL is mild; you are at low risk for a serious problem. Follow your doc's advice, and also speak with her about HPV vaccination. ...Read more
