Implantation (Definition)

One common meaning refers to the process by which an embryo attaches to the uterus of a woman so that she is pregnant. Is hCG produced at time of fertilization (when sperm meets egg) or only when implantation occurs?

Is hCG produced at time of fertilization (when sperm meets egg) or only when implantation occurs?

Before implantation: Hcg is secreted by the embryo after fertilization but before implantation. The embryo reaches the blastocyst stage before it implants, with an inner cells that becomes the fetus, and trophoblast cells that make HCG and become part of the placenta. A little HCG is produced before implantation, but by the time we can *detect* HCG with a blood or urine pregnancy test implantation has already occurred.

Sorry, a follow up question to the previous. Will the morning after pill prevent fertilization/implantation in the egg knowing that they are ovulating?

Sorry, a follow up question to the previous. Will the morning after pill prevent fertilization/implantation in the egg knowing that they are ovulating?

No: The morning-after pill works by delaying ovulation. Sperm hang around for several days but no pregnancy will occur if ovulation is delayed until the sperm are all gone. If an egg is already there, the morning after pill doesn't prevent fertilization or implantation. The good news is that the egg is viable for a short time, not days and days. Best wishes!

I had IUI yesterday and feeling frequest cramps and lower abdomen pain. Is it a sign of egg fertilization?

No.: To early to have pregnancy or "fertilization" symptoms. You may have some cramping because a device was placed through your cervix and sperm placed in your uterus. Neither of these organs like have things placed inside of them. Cemen can be irritating to the uterus and it is usually washed before IUI to prevent symptoms but its still possible to have what you are experiencing. Talk to your doctor.

How soon after sex is an egg fertilized? How soon after fertilization will your basal body temperature rise and implatation bleeding appear?

How soon after sex is an egg fertilized? How soon after fertilization will your basal body temperature rise and implatation bleeding appear?

Varies: The egg typical survives and awaits fertilization in the reproductive tract for up to 24 hours. Basal body temperature rises not from fertilization but from the increase in Progesterone as a result of the lh surge at the time of ovluation. This surge is what is detected in home ovulation predictor kits. Implantation bleeding is inconsistent sign of pregnancy but can occur 1week after fertilizes.

This may be a dumb question. But does implantation always cause bleeding? And if you get cramps, can they be a dull pain but still noticeable, felt?

This may be a dumb question. But does implantation always cause bleeding? And if you get cramps, can they be a dull pain but still noticeable, felt?

No, it does not: Implantation "bleeding" is an old wives tale. It actually is very uncommon to have any bleeding associated with implantation. You certainly could have some mild dull pain, but usually not sharp "cramps".

If implantation happens 11jun, when should do hpt to get positive result? Does implantation happens with sudden cramps and bleeding then stop?

If implantation happens 11jun, when should do hpt to get positive result? Does implantation happens with sudden cramps and bleeding then stop?

Patience...: One can do a urine pregnancy test 2 weeks after presumed implantation, if by that time one's normal regular period has not occurred. If one's normal regular period comes, then the pregnancy test is not needed.

How much time dose it take the sperm to get to the egg and fertilize it?

How much time dose it take the sperm to get to the egg and fertilize it?

Here are some. ..: Known to us, once inseminated in the vagina, the sperms may survive for 3-7 days during which sperms competitively swim through cervix, uterine cavity, Fallopian's tube to fertilize the awaiting egg. But, how long does the lucky sperm take to swim to the egg is an open question since no study has been specifically done to answer your question. So, I guess fertilization take place in 1-7 days.

The: The best idea may be to consult a geneticist to review your charting and give you answers regarding your fertility. They can discuss the noonan syndrome and plans for fertility with you so that you are completely informed. Cramping only the left does not mean that is the only side you have eggs on. Some women experience menstrual cramping more on one side than the other. Ovulation (release of the egg) actually occurs two weeks before your period.

When the spermatogonial stem cell get mutated by chemicals, if the mutated sperm fertilize the egg, will the child have de novo genetic defect?

When the spermatogonial stem cell get mutated by chemicals, if the mutated sperm fertilize the egg, will the child have de novo genetic defect?

No: So lots of things cause mutations in sperm and most sperm are not good. That is why it takes millions to get one good sperm. When mutations occur they usually render the sperm less useful and normally that sperm is not going to fertilize and egg
