Do Women With Fibroids Ovulate
I'm 5 months post myomectomy and experiencing pain on the same site where fibroid was, especially during ovulation. Should I worry?
Uterine fibroids are the most common pelvic tumor in women. 1 of every 3 women of child-bearing age have these tumors and up to 80% of african-american women have fibroids. They are often asymptomatic but they can also cause significant symptoms. It is the most common cause of heavy menstrual bleeding. Pelvic pain and increased urinary frequency ...Read more
Can having a hysteroscopy (for visual purposes- checking after a fibroid removal this past Dec) affect your first Ovulation afterwards?
How to stop ovulation bleeding? Bleed every month during ovulation for 3-5 days, no other issues like fibroid etc. It is due to hormone change.
Not sure.: Midcycle ovulatory bleeding is usually very light, spotty even, and usually only lasts for a day. I would think that a sonogram would be very helpful to see if there was anything else (polyps in the uterus, fibroids, or a very thickened lining of the uterus). If not, then perhaps a couple of months of a birth control pill (which should suppress/prevent ovulation) could be tried, then see if bett. ...Read more

Moderate bleeding 2 weeks after period, enough to use tampon. Could it be ovulation? Period? Pelvic u/s 3 months ago showed simple cyst and 1cm fibroid.
Ovulation bleeding: Ovulation bleeding -- if it happens -- is generally very light, and lasts no longer than a day. Fibroids, however, can bleed intermittently -- lasting longer. Sometimes this can become quite extensive. I suggest talking with your gynecologist about this, and seeing what s/he recommends. ...Read more
I have been checked for fibroids and hormone imbalance both are good is there another reason I spot during ovulation time ultra sound was clear?
Multiple causes: Irregular spotting can be due to multiple reasons. An ultrasound would not be the best way to check for pathology on the inside of your uterus (i.e. polyp) that can cause bleeding. A sonohystogram or HSG or hysteroscopy would be better test for that. In addition, estrogen levels drop briefly around the time of ovulation so that can lead to some spotting. Also, is your Pap smear normal? ...Read more

I'm ovulating and have regular cycle, No thyroid or fibroids or endo cysts. But still not able to conceive, actively trying from 2 yrs. Any advice?
When I have my fibroids removed The doctor told me that I had small ovaries is that the reason that I'm not ovulating and having periods because he told me that I wasn't in the stage of premenopausal so tell me what is going on?
There is a: Fairly wide range of normal size variation for the ovaries. After menopause, due to lack of hormonal stimulation, the ovaries shrink (atrophy) and are essentially non functional. If you are premenopausal, this shouldn't be the case, unless there is a disturbance of hormone responsiveness or activity. So, ask your doc whether your ovaries are abnormally small or just on the small side of normal. ...Read more
I am 34. For 2 years my periods are shorter, worse PMS, worse ovulation symptoms, and a bad uterine fibroid. Could it be low progesterone balance?
Probably not: It is common for the nature of the menstrual cycle to change with time. That is the likely explanation for the changes you have noticed. The progesterone is only produced for about 12 to 14 days each cycle and is partly responsible for the PMS symptoms but that is related to the increasing progesterone level - not a decreased level. Most women have fewer symptoms while taking the Pill. ...Read more
I have two fibroids on my uterus I haven't had a period in almost A year and I my first period two days ago so does that mean I'm ovulating or will there ever be a chance of me having kids?
Infertility/Fibroids: You have two major problems with conception if this is your first period in one year. The first, a lack of ovulation, and secondly the fibroids potential to inhibit implantation. You need to see a Fertility GYN MD soon if you are serous about conception in the next year as you are now age 37 and spontaneous ovulation is declining rapidly along with your ovarian reserve for egg production. ...Read more
I have irregular periods and I also have a submucosal fibroid that is 3mm but it change the shape of my uterus. How do I know when I'm ovulating?
Trying for concieve so long, fibroid but small, tube clear, sperm test also ok. Taking Clomid (clomiphene) 100 mg, metformin 1000. Ovulating. Why not concieve?
Doesn't always work: You're receiving good therapy, although your metformin could be increased in step to 2000 mg/day in divided doses as tolerated. Even with proper therapy, some couples cannot conceive. Diet, exercise and weight loss will help as well. Your questions are best directed to your doctor. ...Read more
Probably not.: A fibroid is not likely to prevent pregnancy. However, it may increase your risk of pregnancy loss depending on the exact location and size. This is very unlikely unless the fibroid is in the uterine cavity. Your doctor can recommend tests to determine the exact location of the fibroid. ...Read more
My question is what brings about fibroid? Is it after giving birth or taking pills after having intercorse or just develop into any woman
No cause: I guess you are refering to fibroids of the uterus (leiomyomata). Approximately 25% of women in reproductive years develop fibroids. There is no known cause for the muscular tumors; there is some genetic tendency. They can be ignored as long as they do not grow rapidly, become very large, or cause bleeding problems or occasional pain. They are only very rarely malignant (cancer). ...Read more
