Do Tongue Piercings Give You Bad Breath
My tongue keeps getting dry and turns white whenever I start speaking, thus giving me horrible bad breath. I brush twice and scrape 5+ times daily,?
Check with doctor: Check with your doctor to make sure that you do not have a yeast infection on your tongue. You also need to make sure that you do not have some other condition like diabetes that could cause you to be dehydrated and constantly have a dry mouth. Until you are seen I suggest drinking plenty of water and avoiding caffeine, alcohol and processed sugars.

I almost always have a bitter taste in my mouth that gives me bad breath. But I have excellent oral hygiene. What is causing this?
Bad breath: Bad breath can be from a host of both dental and medical conditions. By far the biggest cause is poor oral hygiene which results in decaying food debris between teeth, under gums and on tongue. Probably very little: Most people's tongues are cleaned somewhat by food and drinking, so that thick odoriferous bacteria does not build up. There are tools sold to scrape and clean the tongue if you are concerned, or you could just use a dull dinner type knife to scrape the tongue. Yes: Black hairy tongue is caused by the elongation of the papillas of the tounge, caused by an overgrowth of fungi. Most likely brought on by taking antibiotics or certain mouthwashes. Tongue brushing: Brush your tongue regularly like brushing your teeth. It will come off eventually. As to the bad breath. use alcohol-free mouthwash. Follow the direction of the manufacturer. I use and recommend to patients alcohol-free CoQ10 mouthwash. In 2 weeks your morning breath will be fresher assuming that you don't have cavity and/or nasal drip. If problem persists, visit a Dentist and/or Physician.
