1st statement wrong: Statins improved cardiac outcomes in primary prevention in woscops, afcaps, hps, + jupiter trials. But it doesn't reduce events to zero, just 20-30% fewer heart attacks and deaths than the untreated group. Significant prevention but not a guarantee, so yes there are other factors that promote disease even on statins, including genetics, diabetes, hypertension, and unhealthy lifestyles. ...Read more
