Does a spider bite look like a regular pimple on my leg?

Does a spider bite look like a regular pimple on my leg?

It can.: But it doesn't have to. When patients come in with "spider bites", basically pimples that keep getting larger, they tend to be staph infections/abscesses. Bottom line: don't try to pop or pick it. If it's getting bigger or really painful, see a doctor b/c it could be the beginning of an abscess. ...Read more

I have a slightly large pimple like sore on my back. It's not itchy but it is painful. Could it be from a spider bite?

I have a slightly large pimple like sore on my back. It's not itchy but it is painful. Could it be from a spider bite?

Unlikely: Most common lesion on the back as you described is a pimple or sebaceous cyst. Both of which are localized skin infections/inflammations. A spider bite could occur on back but is less likely. A spider bite could get infected or it could cause tissue necrosis as with the brown recluse spider bites. Best to have a doc look at it. ...Read more

Spider bite or pimple, how can I tell?

Spider bite or pimple, how can I tell?

Can't always: Spider bites can have variable appearances. It might cause a pink or red bump with no symptoms. Or it could itch or be painful. Venomous spiders may cause significant pain radiating far from the site, cramping, sweating, necrosis of tissue or worse if there is an allergic reaction.
