Needs biospy: Small nodules can be cancer, but they would need to be biopsied. Many times, the nodules are just scars and not cancer. If you find nodules on a cat scan of your chest, depending on the size, they need to be followed to make sure they don't grow or look ominous enough to warrant a biopsy. What to do about nodules also depends on your risk for lung cancer, i.e., were/are you a smoker, etc. ...Read more

If your nodule is less than 1cm especially less than 0.5 cm, has a regular border, it's solid and pop-corn like then no reason to worry,
so another thing that your doctor could do if to repeat your imagining at 6-12 months base on your risk factors. Try to relax and repeat a CT scan around Novemebr or so if your nodule was 6-8 mm and you are non-smoker.
If you are smoker repeat it now. ...Read more

Depends: If the nodule is very small, it would not be seen in a plain x-ray so the fact you had 3 prior negative ones does not mean much. You may have had it undetected for years. Depending on how big it is and your clinical situation, your doc may opt to follow up with another ct scan in 6-12 months, do a pet scan, or proceed with a biopsy. Good luck and if you are a smoker, quit today. ...Read more
