Flora rebalancing: Probiotics are dietary supplements and foods that contain "beneficial" bacteria. They are promoted to improve digestion by rebalancing the normal microflora in the large intestine. Perhaps this rebalancing occurred and resulted in initial benefit for you, but further flora adaptation has occurred and lessened the favorable effect. More is not better. Just stop, or try another brand/bacteria. ...Read more

Raw food diet is great, but some raw veggies cause gas and bloating for some. How to improve digestion of raw food? #nqlu i'm trying to eat more raw food but get way too much gas or just don't digest some veggies and seeds. I try the food combining sugges
Unfortunately there is no way around this problem, the issue here is Cellulose (fiber found in raw vegetables) this is a carbohydrate that is very difficult for the human body to digest. For this reason, if a lot is consumed the result is gas, bloating and nausea. You should also be aware that for this reason many of the valuable nutrients in raw vegetables are actually not being absorbed by the body, which defeats the intended purpose of eating this way.
I believe that steaming your vegetables would be better on your digestive system, and would give your body more nutrients. On the other hand, you can try using a digestive aid before consuming raw vegetables. Examples of naturally occurring digestive enzymes include aloe vera and papain. These can be found at your local vitamin and herb retailer.

Maybe not Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine): Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks). Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut. ...Read more

IBS: oral bc cause?: Oral bcp's are just a version of what your body goes through hormonally during a regular (non-pill) cycle. IBS can be caused by stress of any kind, or by viral/bacterial gastroenteritis. Bcp's are not involved in causing IBS, but taking them irregularly can activate endometriosis by causing estrogen levels to vary in strength. Implants in the colon are common and can lead to IBS symptoms. ...Read more

a Probiotic preparation is certainly worth it but at your age I would suggest a GI evaluation to rule out more specific issues which could cause the symptoms you describe! We do not recommend a specific preparation on Health Tap however your Pharmacist may be able to suggest an effective OTC preparation.
Hope this helps!
