Not studied: Nail salon atmospheres are full of organic chemical fumes and one would think that the workers have a continuous exposure which probably is dangerous in the long run. Ventilation in my experience is poor which contributes to this. It is very unlikely that just sucking on a rusty nail is going to cause any problems or illness. Ensure that you are getting adequate protein in your diet, and eat gelatin to help thicken your nails.
