Hello. Can ovarian cysts cause severe cramping and diarrhoea? I am due my period in 2-3 days. Thanks
Yes and No.: Ovarian cysts can cause abdominal and pelvic pain, but most patients do not describe this as cramping. Most of the time this is sharp, sometimes stabbing pain, but can also be a dull ache. Rarely is it "crampy". Ovarian cysts would not cause you to have diarrhea. Ovarian cysts are most often painful in the middle of your cycle, not at the end. ...Read more

Can an ovarian cyst on the right side cause pain on the left side with diarrhea (foul smell yellow) cramps, chills. Blood work and CT scan are ok?
Seems Unlikely: I would think that the pain would be on the same side as the cyst. Your symptoms sound more GI in nature and the cyst may be just an incidental finding on the ct. Remember that all regular cycling women will produce one cyst each month (usually <2.5 cm) and that is the special cyst that has an egg inside. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I had my appendix and an ovarian cyst removed a week ago. For 5 days now I have had diarrhea and nausea. Is this from my surgery?
Was told I have 6centi ovarian cyst. On/off pelvic pain, main concern is severe nausea for 5 days and diarrhea for 2 days. Is that really from cyst?
Maybe: Large ovarian cysts can cause the ovary to twist off its own blood supply This is called torsion. This can give you pain, nausea and vomiting. However, gastroenteritis can give you all the same symptoms. Sometimes it is difficult to know for sure what is causing the symptoms. Ultrasound with color-flow can help to rule out torsion. Gastroenteritis usually resolves on its own. Best wishes! ...Read more

I have an ovarian cyst and I now have stomach pain and loose stools/diarrhea and nautious is my cyst causing that or is that from my hyena hernia?
Nonspecific: Abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea are fairly nonspecific symptoms. They could be due to a variety of GI problems, most of which however are probably functional. While a hiatal hernia isn't anatomic problem that can cause some functional problems, this is usually related to difficulty eating, chest pain, anemia, or reflux symptoms.
