Do O Bs Still Use Forceps What For
To Save Your Baby: I've performed forceps deliveries in emergencies where a c-sec would have taken too long & waiting placed the infant at significant risk for brain injury. It is an excellent tool but fraught with danger if your doc is inexperienced or untrained. I totally agree with dr. Drezaliu. Unfortunately i don't believe forcep deliveries are taught any more. I couldn't even find a pic with proper technique. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Lifestyle.: First, technology has made most of us quite sedentary, and as such we don't expend nearly as many calories as we used to. Second, busy lifestyles tend to beget grab-and-go types of foods, which are generally less healthy and actual relaxed sit-down meals. That's one way to see it. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I'm 50 years old and i still would like to have a child but my ob-gyne discouraged me. What is your advice?
Depends on situation: Any pregnancy has at least 4% risk of unexpected issues, includeing birth defects, prematurity or other problems. The ds kid has a potential lifespan of 6+decades of supervised care. With at least a 14% risk of problem & long lasting issues, consider all 1st. ...Read more
Hurt ribs ob right side 28 days ago not as painful but still hurt and pop when I move or pick up heavy things feels like ribs rub together. What is it?
Ligament damage?: Still having pain a month after an injury suggests it was reasonably serious. Intercostal (between the ribs) ligaments help hold the ribs in place and may have been stretched, strained or torn with your injury. If the ligaments are loose, the ribs can move out of place and feel like popping. I believe it is time for you to have a good exam by your doc/orthopedist and perhaps some imaging. ...Read more

Endometrial polyps: If there is pain on insertion, then use more lubricant, and try to relax your pelvic muscles (reverse kegel maneuver) to prevent pain and actual trauma to the vaginal skin during intercourse. If the local OB doctor can't find a cause for your bleeding, then hysteroscopy may be something that you may want to have, to look for endometrial polyps. ...Read more
