Do My Pregnancy Cravings Mean I Am Addicted To Eating
Most Likely Not: Cravings may be a behavioral response to a metabolic need. For example, if you are craving bananas, you may be low in potassium. Apparently, prenatal vitamins have largely decreased this issue but it is still something to consider. Check with your ob/gyn for advice on appropriate nutrition during this time of high metabolic need. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I am trying to lose weight but I am still having strong cravings, how can I change or get rid of these cravings forbad food?
I'm 16 and 175 pounds i feel sad and when i try to stop eating it doesn't work. I can't stop eating, why do I always have to eat and how do I stop?
You might need help: To succeed at making a change in the way you live is not easy and it's even harder when you feel bad. Supportive help might make the difference. It might be possible to find a therapist to work with on both feeling less sad and changing your activity/eating behaviors. The good news is that you are young enough to avoid some the long-term effects of these problems. Do it soon and have a good life. ...Read more
Hello, I am 24 weeks pregnant, but recently i feel very constipated, but I am afraid to take any laxatives. I keep healthy diet. What can I do to help?
Fiber, fluids & exer: Congratulations on your baby bump. Any possibility you can increase your dietary fiber, drink more water & get more exercise? Maybe prunes or prune juice? That's probably the most natural way to keep bowels moving along. Check w/your OB to be sure your thyroid (TSH) is normal b/c underactive thyroid can cause constipation. Good luck & congrats again! ...Read more
Change: You need to change. Try asking yourself this question before eating sweets: "does this (fill in the blank) taste as good as being this feels?" also, try writing down in a journal everything you eat or drink for one week. If you are honest with your entries, you will soon tire of writing down the foods you shouldn't be having, and you will alter your behavior accordingly. Finally, stick with it. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am 8 weeks pregnan with twins i am extremely nauseous i cant keep much down i have started craving raw red potatoes is it bad for me to eat them?
No, they are ok: The nutritional value of a potato is actually greater when it is eaten raw. It contains vitamin C, B6 and niacin. Curiously, raw potatoes are known as a food craved by pregnant woman. Be very careful to wash the potato carefully. Good luck with the nausea (and the twins!) ...Read more
Those are two of 'em: Unless you are being inaccurate in describing your eating behaviors, it seems likely that you have an eating disorder. It would be a very good idea to see a therapist who deals with such issues and make changes before your body suffers what can become very serious - even life-threatening - damage. It is good that you recognize the possibility that something is wrong. That's a good start! best! ...Read more
I am already heavy but I don't wanna gain to much during my pregnancy what type of exercise should I do while I aam pregnant?
Great question!: By far the best exercise you can do is walking! make sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes! and take nice slow walks...Great for the circulation; and low impact. You might also try using an elliptical machine; as this is also low impact on your joints, just do it slowly and you'll get a great work-out. Yoga is another great thing to study while pregnant; very relaxing. Best of luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am 21 weeks pregnant and still using meth sometimes. I do really want to stop, how can I stop this bad activity? I dont want to get harm my baby.
How can I stop eating unhealthy food? I believe I am addicted to it. If I stop abruptly I feel deprived.
See below: Make small EASY changes every few days. Add a healthy food and reduce or eliminate an unhealthy choice every few days. If the urge for a favorite food is too strong to resist, give yourself permission to take just a smaller portion than usual without feeling guilty. I want to lose weight, but i have problem that I can't stop overeating sweets, brad, potato and so on. I think I'm addicted. What can I do?
I am too! Try this--: I assume you're dieting. If so, you're not unique--most of us want what we can't have! Exercise (walk the mall, bike riding a paved trail) should distract you and burn calories. Devoting time to a passion may help. Cheating on your diet twice a week will help you feel less deprived, but make up for it the next day. Research fun low-cal recipes. Or, eat anything you want just in small portions. ...Read more

What to do to increase my appetite. Sometime i m not having food for 4-5 hrs and still m not feeling that much hungry. Please help me?
Can you clarify?: Most of us feel hunger only when we really need to eat, and that depends on how much we've eaten recently. If you have a reasonably healthy weight and are physically fit, then stop worrying about not feeling hungry, and don't let somebody's superstition tell you when you should. Be glad you don't feel compelled to eat when you're not actually hungry; your physician can be your guide here. ...Read more

When I last went to the doctors i was told I'm obese and despite trying very hard with exercise and eating better food I am not losing any weight because I never know when to stop eating?
What can I take for severe panic disorder but im 3 months pregnant I have asthma I am 3 months pregnant and i suffer from really bad panic attacks i don't no what to do since im pregnant I have them every day constantly please help
Unfortunately : Unfortunately this an issue that you, your psychiatrist, and OB will have to discuss and weigh all your options. The medications that are typically used for the treatment of panic attacks are class c drugs, this means that these drugs have not been studied in humans, and have possibly shown some adverse effects in animal studies. A doctor or medical team may decide that the benefits when given these drugs outweigh the potential risk to the fetus, then they are prescribed. Daily panic attacks seem like a justifiable reason to go ahead and begin medical treatment, however your medical team has more information about you and your history and can make a better decision regarding this. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
