Do I need to limit natural carbs like sweet potatoes on a plant based diet??? Or can I eat as much as I want?

Do I need to limit natural carbs like sweet potatoes on a plant based diet??? Or can I eat as much as I want?

Limit simple carbs: A plant-based diet is very healthy but I would limit processed simple carbs like white flour and white rice, as they tend to raise blood sugar. White potatoes and high-glycemic fruits like dates should also be limited but all of these are OK in moderation. Sweet potatoes actually raise blood sugar less than white potatoes! Rule of thumb : For males, up to two 5 ounce glasses of wine daily is permissible provided ok with both physical and mental health. This is a guideline only.
