Several ideas: Was a pulmonary thromboembolus ruled out? Will you be getting a holter monitor for possible heart block / other need for a pacemaker. This needs to be run over a few days. Is this a seizure or syncope? The differential diagnosis is a long one and the entities to be considered will depend on what surrounded the event. Hoping a treatable cause is found. See pharmacist: Activated charcoal capsules work as an adsorbent, not an absorbent. Speak with the pharmacist about it's use and dosage. It will bind with anything that you just swallowed, and prevent its absorption. It's also non-toxic. However pepto-bismol only coats the stomach surface, but will not bind to the black mold, nor prevent absorption as well. The activated charcoal will, and you'll poop it out black. Why do alcoholics commonly die from seizures after withdrawal but people with epilepsy are usually fine and dont even go to the hospital after sezure?

Epileptics do: die from seizures, just not as frequently. There are different neurologic events with alcohol withdrawal seizures that don’t occur with grand mal seizures. Also, the cardiovascular and other organ damage from alcohol use can be a factor in mortality in alcohol w/d seizures. There is probably more than one reason for this phenomenon, and taken on a case by case basis. Good question. ...Read more
