My TSH level is 42.62 do I have thyroid cancer?

My TSH level is 42.62 do I have thyroid cancer?

Not really.: This is very high level. The normal range is around 0.4 - 5.0 mu/l, so this is very high. This, first and foremost, suggests low thyroid hormone production, and is a sign of hypothyroidism. The cause of this might be linked to thyroid cancer, as cancerous nodules are usually "cold" or produce no thyroid hormone, but, on its own, does not point to cancer. ...Read more

Tsh 0.01, T3 (liothyronine) 4.3 T4 1.8 ? Do I have thyroid disease ? Could the test be wrong? My tests are always normal for,My thyroid .....know why?

Endocrinologist ASAP: According to endocrineweb.com, your TSH is low 0.01 (0.5-6), T3 (liothyronine) is low 4.3 (80-180), and T4 is low 1.8 (4.6-12). These findings are consistent with an nonperforming thyroid due to factors outside the thyroid gland, perhaps originating in the pituitary gland. You need to urgently see an endocrinologist to make a diagnosis and start treatment. Hope that helps. ...Read more

I just recently took the test for thyroid and the result came t3 (liothyronine) and tsh are normal but t4 is 14. Do i have thyroid?

Possibly not: B"sd T4 14 suggests to me a total T4 was done. This test is affected by hormone binding and therefore high levels may in fact correspond to normal free T4. I pressume the T3 (liothyronine) then was the T3 (liothyronine) resin uptake, a historical test in much of the world, which measures thyroid hormone binding and therefore provides a correction for total T4. The product T4 X T3 (liothyronine)RU then is an estimate of the free T4. ...Read more

Discuss: w/your doctor if you have concerns. Your lab is not a problem, but I wonder why so much lab was ordered in the first place. TSH in "normal" but not fully appropriate for someone in your age group and should be repeated in the future, particularly if you develop symptoms. ...Read more
