Do H Cg Levels Double With Blighted Ovum
Blighted ovum or potential ectopic? My HCG levels doubled, then dropped twice before rising again. OBGYN is recommending methotrexate.
Good idea: After multiple lab examinations, if there is still nothing seen in the uterus and a rising HCG, you most certainly have an abnormal pregnancy that should be actively managed. A dilation and curettage would help to figure out if the abnormal pregnancy was in the uterus. If it was confirmed that it was not in the uterus, then methotrexate would be a good idea along with continued lab follow up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Will my hCG levels continue to double with a blighted ovum? Mine are more than doubling ges sac measuring 5w5d however i'm 5w2d. Hcg 4967 no yolk sac
Generally not: If your HCG is doubling and the sac is approx. Consistent with your dates, chances are that you do not have a blighted ovum - could be a normal pregnancy. Keep checking sonos and hcg's - may need intervention if signs of fetal activity / growth are not evident. Good luck. ...Read more
Miscarriage : The HCG levels can rise quite high with a blighted ovum, but these levels do not rise normally. The level of HCG does not tell if you have a blighted ovum or what is called a missed abortion by some. If your HCG level is doubling every 48 hours in the first weeks of pregnancy, your pregnancy is most likely normal - if not, probably a miscarriage. ...Read more
Ivf pregnant week8 dr confirm triplet blighted hCG 8k. However saw a yolk sac in [email protected] when consulted another dr. Chances of remain preg? Week7 hcg7k
Miscarriage?: There should be more than a yolk sac by now. There should be a fetus with a heart beat. It would appear that you have a missed abortion or what is normally called a miscarriage. This is unfortunate. Your infertility specialist that performed the ivf would be the best one to determine this. ...Read more
In short, yes: Dropping HCG levels mean an abnormal pregnancy if they are measured during the early weeks of pregnancy, this does not hold true if measured later in pregnancy when levels can drop and be normal. There are occasional time when they may not rise as expected when there are significant maternal illnesses as well. ...Read more
Monday hCG 9k. Friday hCG 24k, no hb on ultrasound, fetal pole 0.2 mm. Tues hCG 44k. No symptoms of mmc. Does hCG rise so normally after missed mc?
Not sure: Hard to say what slow means. Did you have a d;c or miscarry naturally. The level should become zero in a week or two after a spontaneous miscarriage but it depends on how high the level was when it started. ...Read more
Ivf pregnancy week 6. Triplets measure at week 4+ no yolk and heartbeat seen. Is this normal? Or blighted ovum?
Depends on size: If they are measuring only 4 weeks it's possible they are normal, but this is unlikely given ivf. What are the sizes of the gestational sacs? ...Read more

Looks like you are: Miscarrying. I see you posted this question many hours ago, so I suspect you have sought emergency care already. If you haven't, please do. Wishing you the best. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Threatened miscarriage with hcG levels at 6,180. About 72 hours later hcG has doubled to over 12,000. Still a chance of miscarriage?
Threatened: There's always a chance of miscarriage but that strong rise sounds very positive. You don't say a gestational age or if a heartbeat (and a yolk sac) are seen on ultrasound, those are very positive signs as well. Good luck. ...Read more
