Hello. I want to know when is best to take L-arginine to burn fat. I perform exercises of high intensity intervals.
I want to know about L-arginine benefits and muscle gain. I'm doing HIIT (High Intensity Intervals Training) every day, FOCUS T25 Workout.
I've been looking for supplements and I saw one called L-Arginine I was wondering if it was safe for me to take considering my high blood pressure ?
Drinking an energy shot, it contains high concentrations of caffeine, taurine, magnesium and L-Arginine, also i'm on antidepressants, is it safe?
Probably: Assuming the product is not contaminated and contains what it says, the tauriine, magnesium and L-arginine do not constitute a risk. A typical cup of coffee is 100-200 mg of caffeine; at some establishments it can go to 400 mg. That is your guide. But the concern is less the interaction with antidepressants, more is it ok for you and any medical condition you might have. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Is it okay to take l-arginine while taking losartan, nicardipine & metropolol? I saw on dr. Oz that l-arginine was a good supplement to take if one has high blood pressure. I also saw that hibiscus tea was good for lowering blood pressure. Is it ok to tak
This : This should be fine, but with a few caveats. First. L-arginine is an unproven dietary supplement. It may be helpful, but there is no convincing evidence. And just because it is a natural supplement does not mean it is necessarily safe. If you haven't already, a more effective and natural way to help your blood pressure would be to cut out sodium and increase your intake of fresh foods. Your combination of drugs indicates to me that you have a substantial blood pressure problem. You should discuss these supplements with your physician and your pharmacist to be sure there are no interactions, and always let healthcare professionals know what supplements and over-the-counter medicines you are taking in addition to your prescriptions. Although uncommon, in some cases these ordinary supplements and otc meds can cause negative drug interactions with your important prescriptions. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Yes-but not everyday: This sounds like a very healthy lunch! garbanzo beans are a good source of protein & fiber, avocados contain healthy oils & all 3 are rich in a wide array of beneficial phytonutrients. But variety is the spice of life; i advise eating foods of every color as the different colors are made by different nutrients, so don't eat this every day. Sodium free beans (kidney, black, garbanzo, pinto) vs sweet potatoes which is healthier for wright loss? I've been eatin beans and avoiding potatoes
Neither: Both types of foods contain high glycemic index sugars, the sweet potatoes being somewhat worse. A balanced, lower fat diet and exercise will suffice for weight loss of 10 lbs. Or so. A larger weight loss might require a specific diet. Of those available you should look at the dukan diet. It is a low-fat, high protein, low glycemic index-food diet and is safe for most people. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Doubt it: At a listed age of 19, your growth centers are likely closed and no further linear growth would be expected. An x-ray of your wrist and hand could be reviewed for open growth centers, but if they show closure you are finished growing taller. If open, a balanced diet, proper rest and regular exercise will support proper growth. Diet supplements or hormone injections only help those with deficiency ...Read more
Safety, unclear need: L-arginine is a dietary supplement. It is made by the body, but is used as a supplement in various adult disorders. No specific indications have been identified in chidlren and adolescents, and it is a substance that, in overdose, can cause brain edema and even death. Oberdose is easier in children because of their smaller size. So, no clear value and possible risk: not a good combination. ...Read more

Unknown: All meds & supplements have potential side effects, and usually it's a pretty long list of potential but uncommon side effects. Side effects are not always dose dependent, so even 1 dose can sometimes cause. Just b/c it's a supplement doesn't mean no risk. I discuss w/ my pts about doing a risk-benefit analysis before starting a new tx. ...Read more
Effective for cold: Sores by mouth, if taken early enough, and is an amino acid, so it's relatively safe to take. Seem to be a popular home remedy. However, if you are using for something else, then it may or may not be effective depending on the diagnosis. So, if it's in the groin area, it may not be as effective. Make sure your pcp can check your area of concern to diagnose it and treat it quickly. ...Read more
