Check anemia: These are sometimes symptoms of anemia. Are you nail beds pale compared to those of others? If this is persistent, then see your family doctor who can check your blood level and determine the cause of the blood loss if anemia is the cause.

Could be: These chronic symptoms are concerning enough to warrant further evaluation. See your primary doctor to discuss all your concerns and symptoms. At that point screening labs for autoimmune conditions can be drawn and a referral to a rheumatologist can be made if indicated.

Viral gastro: Could be many different things, but this is all very consistent with a viral gastrointestinal infection, which can stick around for some time--even up to 7-14 days. If you are improving, even if only slowly, that is the most important thing.

Get lots of rest: You are looking at this problem from the wrong point of view. The shingles is the consequence, not the cause of your problem. It is a recurrence of a dormant or sleeping chicken pox virus from way back when that gets activated when your immune system declines - too much stress, too little rest, or busy fighting another infection. You need to allow your body to recover in order to get rid of all.

Darn That Diarrhea!!: Sounds like it might be sort-of serious on its way to being serious so you might get someone to take you to a doctor for an exam. Chances are you'll do fine but it's hard to tell more from inside this computer--why take a chance? Five days of your symptoms seems a bit too long for my tastes. The 'worst' that can happen is the doctor and you fall in love and move to Tahiti to treat sunburns
