COCPS and breastmilk:
Cocps are safe for use while breastfeeding, however they do reduce breastmilk supply. Best to start cocps 6-8 weeks after delivery so you can establish breastfeeding. Progestin only oral contraceptives will have less effect on milk supply .

On my way to wean my 5 months baby, currently she nurses 2 times/day. I have too low estrogen symptoms. Can I still breastfeed while taking Cyclacur?
Estradiol delivered : by transdermal patch does not yield high levels in breast milk, but delivery by vaginal suppository does. 5-month-olds have implicit memory & expectations that certain procedures will remain the same. Habits or learned behaviors at 6 mos. may cause a breast-fed baby to refuse a bottle from mom. If you must wean, you may need to stay away for 2-3 days & let dad or nana introduce a bottle. ...Read more

Not sure: Generally, nine days after an embryo transfer, you draw your blood for a HCG level. Most clinics do not measure estrogen. If the results are low, it is generally indicative that you may not be pregnant. At our clinic, even if the levels are low, we repeat them in 3-4 days, "just to be sure".
