Doctor insights on:
Do Ear Holes Close Up If You Don't Wear Pierced Ears For Years
No: Ear lobe holes if they are of large size will not close up.
How long does it take for a ear piercing to close my daughter had her ear pierced since she was 3 maybe 4 months she is now 1 years old?
Ear piercing: What are you asking? If the ear piercing is all healed it will never close. If it has not healed you should see your doctor because it should have healed in about 2 weeks.
Pierced ears: Wait 2-3 weeks before changing ear rings. That way you'll know that the hole won't vlose up on you.
Antibiotics: If this is newly pierced, you may consider removing the earrings. You need antibiotics to treat the infection.
Consult your Doctor: If it is causing pain or getting infected you should consult your doctor as the ear ring might need to be taken out. It can only be determined after examination, .
What to do about ear piercing hurts after I changed the earrings and won't heal. Been pierced for over 6 months. What's going on?
Do you have a: Metal allergy to the new earrings? Is the post thicker on the more recent earrings? Do you have an infection?
Clean: Your piercer should provide you with instructions, but cleanliness is the key. Clean your hands prior to touching your ears and earrings. Clean the front and back of the earrings 2-3 times a day. Do not remove the earirings for 6 weeks, but twist them both directions in the ears 2-3 times a day.
Not for me, but. ..: This quote from ralph waldo emerson comes to mind: “one man's beauty is another's ugliness". (i don't think either of us need spend any more time on this question).

See below: You can clean the area with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip.
A little harsh: I would not soak in saline nor would I recommend full strength peroxide as it may slow healing. Rinsing with sali e and cleansing with half strength peroxide every day is preferable.
I have pierced ears that are stretched and need stitching. Can you recommend a reasonable surgeon in my area?
Sure...: ...where do you live (that information is not readily available to us in this forum to help protect your privacy)?
I was told I could use contact solution (saline solution) to clean my newly pierced ears. Is this a good safe idea?
No problem: Contact saline is sterile and to the extent that cleaning a fresh piercing helps with the healing, those solutions are a good way to do it. Make sure you move the keeper in the piercing several time per day which will encourage the clean out and healing.
Takes long time: The regular ear piercing takes up to 8 weeks to heal, the cartilage piercing can take much longer, and you need to make sure that you clean and rotate earrings during all this time 2-3 times a day. If it has been longer than that, return to the place that did the piercing or go to your doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
