Do Babys Get Cold Sweats From Teething
Infant Circulation: Dear mom, as long as your baby doesn't act sick, has normal activity, appetite and sleep then there is nothing to worry about. Infants normally have variable circulation to hands and feet which is the likely reason for your observation of cold hands and feet. Best regards, dr. Mease. ...Read more

What can I do for my 21 month old toddler with a fever ranging from 99 - 101 with cold hands and feet. Also stuffy nose and sneezing.Gave her tylenol (acetaminophen)?
Fluids/monitor: Your 21mo is due for 5-7 uri's/yr to age 5 & most can be monitored at home. Playful times/fluid intake enough to wet diapers every 6hr/breathing not too noticable all suggest home care ok. Lack of play/noticable incresaed work to breathe/poor fluid intake all suggest a dr visit in order.Nasal saline helps keep the nose clear & tylenol (acetaminophen) as a comfort med may help. ...Read more
I have temp 38.5, aching joints, sneezing, sore throat, nausea. I am breastfeeding 8 month baby. What is best way to protect him from getting this?
Continue nursing: Continuation of nursing during periods of illness is beneficial because antibodies produced by mother are passed through breast milk and can help babies recover faster from illness or help prevent infection. As always, cover your cough and be diligent about hand washing after nose blowing, coughing, etc. ...Read more

Will airconditioner give my baby 6 month old baby a cold as it's hot outside but worried he might get to cold not sure what temperature he should be?
No: A "cold" is an infection by certain viruses that cause "cold symptoms". Air conditioners, heaters, humidifiers, cold air, warm air, cold rooms, etc... Do not cause colds. However, quick changes in air temperature and air quality can lead to sniffles, sneezing, coughing, and a runny nose, but usually only briefly... And so may fool a person into thinking the air changes are causing a cold. ...Read more
Infant fever 7 months old. It could be from teething. But do I do. And can I give him water and how much?
Doubt teething: Historically teething has been blamed for many symptoms but in reality most infants cut teeth without significant consequence. Fever greater than 100.5 is most likely related to a viral infection and could be treated with Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen). If fever persists for more than 3 days or your baby has persistent inconsolable crying he should definitely be seen. 1-2 oz of water in a sippy cup is ok. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My 3y/o is sick all of a sudden, runny nose, vomiting, cough, fever 102.0 fever Can she have Enterovirus that kids are getting or flu? What can i do
Take a deep breath: First, focus on hydration. Pedialyte, water etc. Small sips frequently. Since she's vomiting try rectal tylenol (acetaminophen) for her fever. Don't worry about getting food into her - she's not going to have an appetite. First thing in the morning call your pediatricians office for eval. If she is unable to keep in small amounts of fluid in then it is off the the ED to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. ...Read more

Try a little clearer: This question is not too clear, but to take a guess at the intent, it is not uncommon for children to vomit more easily when they are sick than adults do. Sometimes mucous in the stomach from swallowed drip from the noses makes them nauseous and they do not have the self control to wait until they can get to the bathroom to vomit or rest until the nausea goes away. When in doubt, see a doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My husband suffering from crash cough from cold, and hid vocal sound was affected by cold, so what can I do for him?His age is 33.
Laryngitis: Treatment for viral laryngitis is supportive and staying well hydrated, breathing humidified air, taking Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for pain control and being patient is necessary to allow time for the vocal cords to rest and recover. There are some who might prescribe a short course of steroids, but this is seldom necessary. Hope he is better soon. ...Read more
8 month baby - running nose, no temp, full dirty nappies, cough and teething? Is it all connected to her teething?
Might not: It looks like your child might have a viral upper respiratory infection presenting with congestion, runny nose, then loose stool or even diarrhea. Make sure he or she gets plenty of fluid or water and give him/her baby tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil if fevers develop. Symptoms might last for a week or so. Bring your child to see a doctor if symptoms do not improve. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My 3 month of has a cold. Stuffy nose, cough, restless sleep, no temp! Anything I can do other than a humidifier?
Nasal suction: Use saline nose drops (available over-the-counter) to loosen up the mucous and use a bulb syringe to suction out the nose before each feeding and before laying him down. Babies don't much mind if their nose is runny, but they get very irritable when they can't breathe well! Give him plenty of fluids (his milk, but also some water if needed). If he has fever or starts vomiting, see your doctor. ...Read more
Can you get the flu or cold in cold weather? I have the flu but mom says don't go outside, you'll get more sick.
Influenza: This disease more commonly occurs during the winter months, but cold weather has no causative effect. It is doubtful that you will become increasingly sick, but best to stay at rest, drink lots of liquids and take otc meds to alleviate symptoms. Getting exposed to people with other infections is not a good idea. Hope you are better soon. ...Read more
Supportive care: Thank you for your question. If you baby has had a fever, which is 100.4 or higher, and not responding to tylenol (acetaminophen) or other fever control than i recommend going to see your pediatrician. That being said, most minor upper respiratory infections are viral. The best treatment in this case is continued hydration, humidifier, fever control and time. ...Read more
