I have terrible acid reflux right now; less when I lay down. It goes from my chest to my adams apple, and hurts a lot. I've taken meds with no help.?
Then U need an eval: Medical evaluation is very appropriate for you if your gerd-like symptoms don't respond appropriately to typical acid-blockers. Perhaps the drug you've taken is too weak, or you have alkaline (not acid) reflux, or esophageal dysmotility is present that mimics reflux, or you have eosinophilic esophagitis (kind of like an allergy in your gut), or you hyper-secrete acid. Get checked please. ...Read more
My husband has been having a real bad case of acid reflux for the pass couple of days, someone told him that apple cyder would help, something about it would eat the acid from around his stomach. Not sure if that is true never heard of that before. Thanks
From a medical perspective I believe the apple cider does not "eat the acid" from the stomach. He should take an over the conter anti-acid medication like Pepcid (famotidine) or prilosec. Also an evaluation by his primary care provider is in order. He may be dealing with gastritis or an ulcer, and may possible need a test called an endoscopy (camera is used to look at the upper GI tract). His doctor can guide him/explain the work up that may be necessary.
Best of luck. ...Read more
You need medicines: Acid reflux can be easily treated but not with any of the home remedies. You will need an antacid, preferably by seeing your doctor. If you want an alternative, take over the counter antacids like zantac (ranitidine) or Pepcid which are old but inexpensive medicines. More modern medicines include prilosec (over the counter) or any of the ppis which are prescription drugs. Acid reflux requires ongoing treatment. ...Read more

Is it safe to consume 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar 3 time per day? I use it for acid reflux & it works.
In general, yes: Each person reacts differently to any therapy so the bottom line is what works for you. Having said this, a good caveat is always take the least amount of anything for the optimum result. So, try decreasing the amount of apple cider vinegar to find the lowest dosage that will control the acid reflux. If adequate control requires 2 tablespoons 3 times a day, so be it. ...Read more

Had pretty bad acid reflux. Burning my esophagus. Experimented with 1 TBSP of apple cider vinegar in 8 ou of water. It worked! How? It's acidic!!
ACV: Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has acetic acid that can improve digestion. SIgns of low acid and high acid are similar so you may be having low acid and need the extra acidity. Changing die to include fruits and vegetables can actually help resolve symptoms rather than adding ACV or medications. ACV can cause acid burn and remove teeth enamel and cause esophageal burns. ...Read more

Weak reflux valve: Certain foods increase acid production by the stomach such as tomato-based foods, alcohol, chocolate, caffeine, and spicy foods. Avoiding those foods and acid meds can reduce the gerd episodes. Anti-reflux surgery can cure gerd. ...Read more
