Then U need an eval: Medical evaluation is very appropriate for you if your gerd-like symptoms don't respond appropriately to typical acid-blockers. Perhaps the drug you've taken is too weak, or you have alkaline (not acid) reflux, or esophageal dysmotility is present that mimics reflux, or you have eosinophilic esophagitis (kind of like an allergy in your gut), or you hyper-secrete acid. Get checked please. ...Read more

My husband has been having a real bad case of acid reflux for the pass couple of days, someone told him that apple cyder would help, something about it would eat the acid from around his stomach. Not sure if that is true never heard of that before. Thanks

From: From a medical perspective I believe the apple cider does not "eat the acid" from the stomach. He should take an over the conter anti-acid medication like Pepcid (famotidine) or prilosec. Also an evaluation by his primary care provider is in order. He may be dealing with gastritis or an ulcer, and may possible need a test called an endoscopy (camera is used to look at the upper GI tract). His doctor can guide him/explain the work up that may be necessary.
Best of luck. ...Read more

More modern medicines include prilosec (over the counter) or any of the ppis which are prescription drugs. Acid reflux requires ongoing treatment. ...Read more
