I've been having dizziness from dehydration & stomach flu, doctor gave me 1000ml of fluids & I've been drinking water how long till dizines goes away?

Another day, maybe: Usually young people such as yourself bounce back quite quickly from viral gastroenteritis. I presume you had IV fluids if you measured it in 1000 ml/1 liter. And you've been drinking water. Keep it up, take it easy until you feel better/less dizzy. Should not be more than 48 hours more. See doc again if longer. Good wishes:) ...Read more

I have been feeling a little dizzy, almost like i can't focus. Is this a sign of dehydration?

Dehydration?: Your symptom of dizziness could be due to dehydration and it also could due to something else. Unless you're in the desert, or have some uncontrolled loss of fluid, you should not be dehydrated. If you cannot "focus" you need to go to a emergency room to have your blood pressure checked and get some lab results to see if you're anemic or have another factor causing your dizziness.Good luck. ...Read more

I'm always sleepy and one morning I woke up very dizzy. is this dehydration?

Realize: For a young person, unless you have some significant medical ailments or take medications that really predispose you to significant dehydration, chronic fatigue or sleepiness is unlikely to be the major cause. It can lead to some element of "dizziness", particularly when rising, but again if this is constantly happening, dehydration alone is unlikely the only culprit. ...Read more

If you only drink 3-5 cups of liquid a day (I have a desk job at an office) could this lead to dehydration and cause frequent lightheaded/dizziness?

If you only drink 3-5 cups of liquid a day (I have a desk job at an office) could this lead to dehydration and cause frequent lightheaded/dizziness?

How much water? : The right amount to drink depends on metabolism, diet, activity, & weather. The common advice of 8 glasses daily is not supported by science. The body tells you when to drink water: thirst. Symptoms of low blood pressure may include lightheadedness. Some young women need to drink more water and eat some salt to manage this. If symptoms are concerning, see your doc or consult on HealthTap. ...Read more

Sometimes when I have an IBS attack I go to the bathroom 12-15 times a day. I start getting dizzy and sometimes vomit. Could I die from dehydration?

Dehydrated for sure: It is sounding like a trip to the PCP or GI doc should be planned soon. 12-15 bowel movements (BMs) per day is way to much. There are decent treatments for IBS with medication, food elimination diets, probiotics, and even stress reliving strategies. OTC Imodium (loperamide) may help slow BMs in the meantime. Drink plenty of fluids. If your symptoms worsen, you may need to seek help from the ER. ...Read more
