Will having 6 eggs (4 yolks) per day cause kidney problems? I workout. 6 days per week vigorous. I do have a 3000 calorie. Well balanced. Diet

NO: I know of no evidence that eating a lot of eggs will cause kidney problems. In someone who already has kidney failure a low-protein diet is advisable to prevent progression of the disease, but high protein should not cause problems in someone with healthy kidneys. However, I strongly advise that you (and everyone) eat only organic eggs; otherwise it is likely from chickens fed gmo corn &/or soy. ...Read more

On 200mg Spironolactone for hypokalemic per. Paralysis I eat very well balanced diet. Could "cheat" cause dehydration & feelin of bruising allover body?

I believe so: The spironolactone you are taking helps prevent potassium losses in the kidney, helping to keep your potassium blood level up. Avoiding alcohol and eating a low carbohydrate diet may help. If you "cheat", the typical symptoms of HPP may occur: shoulder/arm, hip/leg weakness or paralysis. One might experience aching with this. While challenging, complying with all aspects of treatment is important ...Read more

What causes B12 deficiency? Blood test-B12=158, B6=2.4, folate=12.5, Homocysteine=12.9. I eat a balanced diet. On 325 of aspirin to prevent more DVTs.

Malabsorption: B12 is readily available in foods of animal origin (including dairy & eggs) so unless one is vegan you'll get enough via diet unless you can't absorb it; this can be caused by low hydrochloric acid, overgrowth of yeast or bacteria in the small intestines or a hereditary condition called pernicious anemia.Take methylcobalamin orally or by injection.

Is it ok to have some fruits and veggies blended as well as eating them whole? I have them both ways and wonder if it's ok for balanced diet

Fruits & Vegetables: Are good in any form. If you put them in a blender you loose the pulp of the food, which contains many nutrients. Eat a variety of brightly colored fruits and vegetables. Just chop some up w/a knife and add nuts or cinnamon if you like (oregano for vegetables). Variety is key. Peace and good health. ...Read more

A variety of foods: Healthy diets have natural foods that take time to chew but contain few calories. Examples include carrots, celery, and iceberg lettuce (little/no salad dressing). When shopping for fruits, buy small ones no bigger than a tennis ball, because fruits have sugar. Drinks without calories include water and green tea. Surely avoid sugar & simple starch calories. Must my child eat a balanced diet every day?

Good luck trying: The balanced diet is an adult idea, & a good one to practice for your lifetime. However it is a bit impractical when you deal with kids. Breast milk is balanced, but get past weaning & you must deal with a kid with his/her own ideas about eating. I like to look on kids from the vantage point of a balanced week rather than meal or day. Before school age their brain directs their cravings & does ok. ...Read more
