Having colonoscopy next week. Is it critical that low dose aspirin, fish oil, multivitamin, and vitamin C be discontinued 7 days in advance?
Yes If Told Not: The Aspirin and fish oil both can thin your blood and cause bleeding issues during the procedures. Vitamins often have dyes in them that can discolor the tissues and make it difficult to accurately assess any conditions that might be present. Fish oil: If you do that, you might slip off the toilet seat and bang your butt on the floor. If you form a large bruise on your butt it will make it bigger. Other than that, not much chance. ...Read more
Dose varies: Omega 3 fish oi doses vary depending on why you are taking it, but for general use I recommend about 1000 mg of dha/epa daily...Look at the components on the label and the amount of dha +epa should equal around 1000mg. I think they are a great supplement for most of us. ...Read more
