I have a hh agency(new), peds & just had first time request for light therapy for newborn jaundice infant. What complications are there?
See below: Blue light therapy for jaundice is standard for breaking down the bilirubin that is being produced and seen in the skin and sclera. As long as the child's eyes are protected and hydration is monitored along with the bilirubin levels (by a health care professional), i fore see no complications as long as the bilirubin level is lowering and the child is not sick as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
It is allow for international doctors to apply for breast surgical oncology I am a general surgeon with board certificate and mrcsi thanks?
Need recommendation for a doctor in waco tx skilled at myomectomy for mulitple fibroids (i/s, o/s & in the wall). Successful ufe in 2005. Bulk symptoms persist @ age 48; no hysterectomy wanted.?
Consider UAE/OAE: Having bulk symptoms after UFE suggests that there are some viable fibroids. This may b new fibroids (since UFE 10+ yrs ago) or collateral supply to fibroids from ovarian artery. U could undergo repeat angio looking at Uterine & Ovarian arteries & get embolization of either or both. This will take care of the problem forever since you're close to menopause. Need pelvic MRI with contrast 1st. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Total hysterectomy 1.5 years ago for endometrial cancer. Bleeding today after my vaginal vault pap for screening. Is this normal?
34 year-old woman continues to suffer gynecologic pains, especially with bodily movement, after da Vinci surgery for fibroids and endometriosis.....?
Ovarian conservation: Unfortunately this is fairly common; my best guess is it's related to recurrent or ongoing endometriosis. There are many (good) reasons for preserving ovaries when having a hysterectomy, but good data show that if ovaries are conserved women are 6 times more likely (62% vs. 10%) to have recurring symptoms, and 8 times more likely to need additional surgery (31% vs. 4%) than those who have them removed. Adhesive disease is certainly another possibility. ...Read moreSee 14 more doctor answers
I'm30yrs old lady,ttc since 1 yr.i completed 4 cycles of comid.found cyst after 1st cycle.have yellowish vaginal discharge with foul smell.plz guide ?
My wife had a unilateral salipingo oophorectomy 2 months ago for ovarian cancer - bikini incision. Surgeon said we must wait 7 months to have sex. Why?
Ovarian cancer: What you are describing is not a standard treatment for ovarian cancer. If she had a debulking or staging for ovarian cancer which includes a hysterectomy (unless she wants more children), then it is recommended to wait six weeks for the top of the vagina to heal. I recommend that your wife see a gynecologic oncologist (a doctor specifically trained to treat women with reproductive cancers). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

i have a choriocarcinoma pt who opted for simple hyst instead of chemotherapy. I'm now told she needs weekly hCG levels for a year. Agree?!?
I agree but: I would like to follow this question with you to see what other answers you get esp since I am not a gyn onc. With stage 1 they usually still give single agent Methotrexate as adjuvant therapy. All stages get followed with serial bhcgs for 12 months and then treated with multagent chemo if the bhcg increases. Weekly may not be needed if stable but 12 months of monitoring is standard. ...Read more

Should not B,call dr: They are probably unrelated, however you should call the doctor who ordered the radioactive scan for you. For 5yrs my sister is having burning in vaginal area & heavy discharge.Several tests have been done from STDs to infections, no respite for her.Help.
Many reasons: There are several other conditions that can cause this feeling of burning and discharge. Occasionally, heavy discharge can be completely normal however the burning sensation may indicate another type of problem that requires a doctor to evaluate and treat.. This sounds similar to vulvodynia, or vaginal pain without any infection or trauma but you will need a doctor's evaluation to be sure. ...Read more
