Disadvantages Of A Lacto Ovo Vegetarian Diet
Don't expect it to..: Without doing other things that relieve stress.
Refers to all the physical matter humans (like all living creatures) must take in on a recurring basis; only partially for energy. Like all life on planet humans are open systems which keep tearing down their structure & require intake of atoms/molecules from which to rebuild their structure. Intestinal lining cells replaced ~every 3 days. CaPO4 in bones ~every 6 years, ...Read more
Expert opinions? Which has been proven to be the healthiest: a low-carb, hi protein diet or a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet?
Ideas vary: Different folks here will make different recommendations. Things seem to be shaking out recently in favor of the mediterranean diet, which is none-of-the-above. Especially, don't think that diet is so magic that it will make it unnecessary to exercise, otherwise live a healthy lifestyle, or ignore your personal physician's advice about your special health needs. Glad you're proactive.
I have schizo-affective bipolar type disorder. Is it ok to eat a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet? I heard you could mess up your mental health. Is that true
A vegetarian diet: Is healthy. For more information, check out drmcdougall. Com and nutritionfacts. Org. Both cite lots of research on the benefits of a plant-based diet. Nutritionfacts. Org includes information on the effects of diet on numerous health issues. I don't know of any disadvantages to a vegetarian diet other than having to ignore food commercials on tv and look harder for suitable restaurants.See 2 more doctor answers
Less meat means: Less risk of ingesting hormones and antibiotics found in meat, also less risk of mercury found in fish. Disadvantages--may feel weak or your B12 may get low. Sounds like the Paleo Diet. Please do a search to learn more. Sounds good overall.
Indian Veg. Diet: From what I have learned, it consists of; 28% vegetables. 28% cereals. 28% dairy products in form of clarified butter (ghee). 9% fruits. 6% pulses. 2% sugar. 2% fat.
Vegetarian diet: Pros include avoidance of antibiotics, toxins, and Mercury found in much meat and fish. Also, not killing animals. Cons include risk of low vitamin B 12 and protein, both of which can be made up for by B 12 sublingual supplements and drinking protein powder shakes. Peace and good health.
Controversial: This is a topic that I don't think there is a straightforward answer for! A vegetarian diet can be healthy because you lower your saturated fat intake from animal fat! However, it is not the end all answer to eating healthy! I have encountered many obese vegetarians and vegetarians with terrible cholestrol panels. I believe a well balanced diet with lean meets can be just as healthy or healthier!See 1 more doctor answer
Weight Loss Tips: 1. 60% of your calories should come from protein sources 2. Carbohydrates should be 25% of the calories and come mostly from complex cars and not simple sugars 3. Fat calories should be 15% and again avoid animal fats as much as possible. 4. Exercise with a heart rate of 130 BPM for at least twenty minutes daily 5. Limit your overall calories to 1500 to 1800 calories/day.

Yes, very healthy!: This seems like a strange question to me as vegetarian diets are generally considered quite healthy. Research shows vegetarian diets are associated with decreased risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes & hypertension. The basis of any healthy diet should be a variety of fruits & vegies. Beans, nuts, eggs & dairy provide plenty of protein. See www. Sciencedaily. Com/releases/2009/07/090701103002.Htm.See 3 more doctor answers
Yes: The secret is that properly-chosen vegetarian foods don't taste as good and aren't as addictive as the stuff that the rest of us overeat. There's much less grease / sugar / salt and it's actually a smart option, though the other health benefits are (from my reading of the big epidemiologic studies) overrated. Any fitness-focused athletic lifestyle with sensible food choices does you a big favor.
