Not uncommon: Sometimes we have to observe a child in different ways. Our neuropsychologist sees patients first & gets the best out of them on standardized tests. Then they see me (db pede) when they're tired, but they've had a snack. With parental permission, i push the buttons that bring out autistic behaviors, if there. I don't know.: Official stats are usually artificial &often misleading. Stats depend on definitions &these criteria are changing all the time. Plus, "learning disability" is a relative term --so many types & levels of severity. My take: 1)a huge # of us struggles w/ learning; 2) schools are overwhelmed by the needs, & rarely meet the need; 3)more funding is only part of the answer; better ed approaches needed. ...Read more
