Please! does this sound like I have adhd? Having lots of difficulty learning new things.

Please! does this sound like I have adhd? Having lots of difficulty learning new things.

If this problem is new, then it's not adhd. Might start by talking to your school counselor, if you're in school. If you're an adult, consult your physician. ...Read more

Is there any truth to the fact that vaccines can cause learning problems in your child?

Is there any truth to the fact that vaccines can cause learning problems in your child?

Seeing your mom dead at the age of 12 what king of damage can that do to a child? I am 25 now and seems I have learning problems as in memory issues

Memory problems: I am so so sorry that happened to you at such a young age. Is it possible you are suffering from PTSD or depression? Any feelings of hopelessness, guilt? Any social withdrawal? Insomnia or crying spells? Weight loss or gain? Fatigue? Difficulty concentrating? Anxiety and depression often travel together. I sincerely doubt there are many true hypochondriacs. Learning problems.I'm in college, and when the lecturer explains something,I hear but I can't process information.I understand myself, then forget. Why?

Doctor can evaluate: There are many reasons a person may feel he does not remember the things he hears in the classroom. Such a person can write down his symptoms, to tell his primary care doctor (or his pediatrician if that doctor will still see him as a college student), but start by describing any symptoms in middle school, and in high school. Also, any and all mental health issues and stressors become important. ...Read more

On memory tests I score well above average. I have difficulty learning new words though. Is there any disorder which specifically affects vocab memory?

On memory tests I score well above average. I have difficulty learning new words though. Is there any disorder which specifically affects vocab memory?

Learning semantics, : the meaning of words, is a complex task of higher order cognition, as described on http://www.indiana.edu/~hlw/Meaning/learning.html. It may, therefore, be difficult for a person whose neuropsychological function in short-term, active-working & long-term memory is intact. A neuropsychological exam can define the area of impairment. ...Read more

I don't suffer memory loss but I have trouble learning things example names or new vocab would this be more indicative of add or an actual mem prob?

Hard to say.: It could be neither. Most people, including many doctors have different pathways for learning. Some learn by hearing information, some by reading it, others learn through manual tasks. Consider getting an evaluation to rule out a mild learning disorder before you decide you have ADD or memory problems. If you do have one, there are professionals who can help you figure out the best ways for you. ...Read more
