I have difficulty concentrating. How do I get adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine)?

I have difficulty concentrating. How do I get adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine)?

Why & how long?: There are many different reasons one may have trouble concentrating ranging from simple boredom to being overloaded or stressed to having adhd. Only the last is apt to respond to a stimulant such as adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). I recommend that you start by meeting with a mental health professional to discuss your current concerns and history to determine what's wrong. Then, you look at treatment options.

Break down the task: Into small and easier to reach steps (goals). Take a short break in between steps to help refocusing. Sometimes listening to upbeat music can help with productivity as well.

I'm a student, and I'm having difficulty concentrating while reading my textbooks. Other then meds, is there something that would help me concentrate?

I'm a student, and I'm having difficulty concentrating while reading my textbooks. Other then meds, is there something that would help me concentrate?

Concentration probs: Concentrating well requires steady life habits, including consistent, high quality sleep and exercise. You need to establish regular sleep ; wake times, plus exercise that you enjoy. Eating healthy whole foods (not sugar, or highly processed ones) will also help. Are you interested in your studies? Anxiety can also distract you -- consider psychological eval for this, since help is possible!

I'm having difficulty concentrating on my breath during medication?

Meditation?: In mindfulness meditation we're guided to expect that difficulty and to merely gently, non-judgementally bring attention back to the breath. It can happen more or less often during a sitting. The task is to return as soon as you notice you've strayed. You may get better at it with time, but it will always be the task. It is that ability we seek - not to concentrate on the breath. Think about it.

Can difficulty concentrating be a part of my anxiety disorder?

Yes: Trouble concentrating is often a part of anxiety disorders, in particular 'generalized anxiety disorder' and ptsd. Ocd can cause this too, especially if the obsessional anxieties are frequent. Other times when the trouble concentrating is more situation-specific might have more to do with a specific phobia or feared situation.

What would cause sadness, difficulty concentrating and making decisions?

Talk to someone...: These symptoms spell depression, although u would need a few more symptoms to formally qualify for the diagnosis (sleep or appetite disturbance, tearfulness, sense of worthlessness, to name a few). However, even if the few symptoms u named are all there is, I recommend u talk to a therapist and explore more in depth what is going on emotionally, etc. Medication may or may not be needed...

Why do I have such difficulty concentrating on what I'm reading now that im retired?

Why do I have such difficulty concentrating on what I'm reading now that im retired?

Oldertimer's disease: Use it or lose it...The brain is a tissue just like a muscle. Try focusing a few minutes at time, then gradually increase the time by a minute or two every week. Just like body building exercises. Certain supplements like n-acetyl-cysteine and /or alpha-lipoic acid, with acetyl l carnitine, may help give you more atp. Go slow with any supplements or vitamins. Get a general medical check up first!
