What could be wrong if I have a soft patch on the roof of my mouth accompanied by difficulty breathing?

Airway: Everyone has a hard part and a soft part of the palate (roof of the mouth). If you are having trouble breathing you should see a doctor right away. There are many conditions that could cause this, including airway obstruction in the back of the mouth and throat, lung disease, and heart disease. I would need more details to begin figuring which it is. You should be seen.

See a doctor: Health care has always, and will always be best delivered in the doctor's office. Advice can come online, but healthcare comes face to face. This could be anything from reflux, to heart disease to something wierd, but at your age, reflux sounds the most likely. See a doctor, please.

My tonsils are the nodes under my mouth right? They seem swollen. I have been having difficulty breathing like there is some resistance when inhaling,

Tonsils are inside: Tonsils are located inside the mouth in the back of the throat on either sides. If your lymph nodes in your neck are swollen these can be due to tonsillitis due to lymphatic drainage to out side lymph nodes. Difficulty in inhaling can be due to enlarged tonsils. Please see a doctor for evaluation and treatment.

Nasal obstuction: Could have many causes like sinus conditions or allergy which are transient or polyps, or a deviated septum possibly on the right side. Lying on one side causes an increase in blood flow due to gravity so you end up with both sides blocked

My toddler have acid reflux, difficulty breathing and her adenoids & tonsils were removed is she eligible for disability?

You're kidding?? .: Disability issues are determined on a state by state basis. Such medical issues are common in early childhood & resolve as a kid grows older. Why a kid would be considered disabled because of routine childhood illness is a bit much to consider.

I have difficulty breathing when lying flat in bed but when I prop my head and shoulders it improves. Why?

Concerning sign here: Shortness of breath with laying flat and improves with more upright position is a concerning symptom of heart failure, medically called orthopnea. Often fluid in the lungs settle at bottom with sitting, but spread upward with laying flat thus causing shortness of breath. Extreme obesity can also do this as pressure in belly pushes things up causing troubled breathing, . Consult doc. Good luck.

Time for a visit: This spectrum of symptoms deserves a full history/physical & appropriate testing by someone who knows the patient. Try to schedule a workup within the next week with her doc so the evaluation can begin to track down the issues involved.
