Difference Between Heart Palpitations And Flutter
Palpitations is the symptom, not the diagnosis. They are the 'abnormal awareness of the beating heart'. This can include the heart going to fast, too slow, too hard, irregularly, skipping a beat. The causes are varied eg electrical problems (both sinister and not sinister), extra beats (mostly harmless), anxiety, thyroid problem. If persistent or worrying then get checked for ...Read more
Are heart palpitations heard on a stethoscope. I have been having fluttering in heart & I used a stethoscope & it sounded odd can you hear them?
Indirectly, yes.: Water pills can cause dehydration which may make the blood pressure drop and the heart rate rise that you might sense as heart palpations. Most water pills can also cause potassium levels to drop which can then cause heart rhythm disturbances. REGARDLESS, these are SERIOUS symptoms. Please seek immediate emergency medical care. Due to anxiety, I have been getting frequent heart palpitations where it feels like my heart flutters. Is this dangerous to my heart?
Not necessarily: Palpitations are a sign that the heart is getting more stimulation from the adrenaline surges that happen in anxiety or panic attacks. Very normal physiologic response. Prolonged surges over years could affect the heart, but at 21 years of age it is very unlikely. If u feel your skipping beats or being irregular u should seek medical help by seeing a doctor. ...Read more

I ate flaxseed months ago and had heart palpitations. Now today I ate chia seeds in a recipe and now having heart flutters again. Do these cause this?
Possible allergy: I've never heard of either flax or chia seeds causing heart palpitations. This could be a coincidence (just because you eat something and then get a symptom does not mean that was the cause of the symptom). It is possible you are allergic to flax and chia seeds, as palpitations can be caused by food allergies. Try these again (separately). If every time you eat them you get palpitations then avoid. ...Read more

I had an EKG done today after having some heart palpitations & all that come about was RSR in V1, can this explain dizziness & heart flutters?
No: An ECG is a static test and so as it has been read is normal. RSr likely refers to incomplete RBBB (normal variant in 15% of adult population). If u r dizzy and/ or palpiations, the yield on plain ECG is only good if u had ur sxs at that time. A normal resting ECG bodes well for u, but u need an even monitor or a holter monitor to evaluate for arrhythmia, if any. See a cardiologist. ...Read more
