What is difference between Acitrom and Warfarin? I am taking 2.5mg of Acitrom and now I am planning to shift toWa? Rfarin 2.5mg. Does it make any effect?
Similar but not same: Both Acitrom and Warfarin act in the same way, by blocking the effect of Vitamin K so you make less clotting factors. The main difference is how long the medication says in your body after taking a dose. Warfarin stays about 3 times longer. With both medications you need to check your blood test (INR or prothrombin time) regularly to make sure you are taking the right dose. ...Read more

Coumarin derivative: Acitrom is a coumarin derivative similar to coumadin (warfarin). It is not available in the United States. It is a blood thinner intended to treat or prevent blood clot formation. Use of this medication in patients with cirrhosis can be life threatening & should be closely monitored by a physician. A therapeutic inr is between 2-3 or higher depending on the condition it is being used for. Consult your dr. ...Read more
I am 16 yrs old and suffering from dvt is there any way to get rid of this problem and I am taking acitrom?
Maintain INR 2-3: Did a doc tell you the cause of the DVT? (Were u on contraceptive pills, or does DVTs run in your family?) Other than preventative measures, the only way to treat DVT is with blood thinners. Acitrom (Nicoumalone) is an acceptable Coumadin form, though it isn't used much in USA. Maintain the INR b/w 2-3 for about 6 months, & the clot should go way. Use HealthTap Prime or TTYD if you seek alternativ ...Read more

This could be a: Problem. Clove contains eugenol which can slow blood clotting. Clove should be stopped at least 2 weeks before surgeries to reduce bleeding risk. I have been taking treatment for DVT more than 10 years. Acitrom& preem16 are the drugs taking regularly. Will it affect my sex life? Can I gve birth?
No, yes: Acitrom is an anticoagulant similar to warfarin. You are taking because you had a blood clot at a very early age. It is unusual to have a DVT at 17 and it could be related to a genetic reason that you clot more than other people. Only you and your doctor know if you have a clotting problem that needs lifelong anticoagulation, it is possible. You might stop the drug prior to delivery if pregnant. ...Read more

Please explain why is acitrom prescribed for me when I am suffering from a heart diseasecalled mitral r for the last 20 years?
?: Acitrom is an anticoagulant available in india - not in the usa. Are you sure you're really in louisville, ky? By mitral r - do you mean mitral regurgitation? If so, mr can lead to atrial fibrillation which is an indication for anticoagulation, but, if you have severe mr, the preferred treatment is mitral valve repair since, over time, severe mr will ruin your heart unless fixed. ...Read more
Hi. My husband get stroke when on warfarin. So doctors shifted him on acitrom. I am not getting it in guyana, what is the best replacement for acitrome?
Acitrom is coumarin: Acitrom (acenocoumarol) is similar to Warfarin (coumadin) in that both are in the coumarin class of drugs & work essentially the same way. It's hard to advise you since most docs won't know what drugs are available in Guyana. Use HealthTap Prime to help figure that out. Newer drugs like Rivaroxaban work differently but are equally effective. Oddly, coumadin comes from tonka tree (native to Guyana) ...Read more

My wife's I n r decreased to 1.1 level form 2.34 level she is on acitrom 2mg (warfarin)is it alarming she suffered a blood clot in brain no spspeech?
Worrisome: Although you do not provide information as to why the warfarin was originally started, assuming this was to deal with either a cardiac arrhythmia or distant embolism risk, the inr of 1.1 was too low, and therefore, protection was in fact suboptimal. Appears she did suffer stroke at time, and now needs speech therapy. However, you need to discuss what the best preventative rx for future. ...Read more

Possibly related: If you had a stroke which caused you to have any slurring of speech and that is now getting worse or getting more frequent it may be a residual effect of the stroke. A neurological with speech evaluation together may help give you more information. You may need to enroll in a bit of speech therapy and practice speaking to make things better. ...Read more

Hi, I'm looking for the best diet tablets on the market, that I could buy without having to sell a body part, please and ones that are compatible with HBP.
There are none: There is no such thing as an effective "diet pill". Amphetamines reduce appetite and have long been used in attempts at weight loss, but obviously have their own serious issues with addiction etc and should never be used for this purpose. There are no drugs you can purchase that will work: don't waste your money! Proper diet and exercise are the only answers. ...Read more
