Did You Gain Weight During Ivf Process
During IVF in Dec13, I was put on prednisolone & gained 10kgs after & still gaining. Not able to lose any weight. How can I lose the stubborn kgs?
Weight gain: Weight gain from medications seems to always be tough to lose. Our metabolism seems to slow a little more and we have to work even harder. Metabolically weight is simple use more calories than you take in. There is really no other way to do it. So you need to increase your output and decrease your input. Reasonable diets and exercise programs are key. Fads don't work long term. ...Read more

I know the IVF process is relatively common these days, but i'm not sure about all that is involved. Would you please give me some background information on ivf?
Yes: Ivf is a very safe and effective treatment. In general the goal is for a woman to make woman eggs and then to see how the eggs fertilize (or unite) with sperm. If you used an antihistamine suppression then you could use lipton to trigger retrieval. Talk with your doc who will review these options. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

After egg retrieval and embryo transfer it's less than 2 weeks before you can test for pregnancy. Good luck! ...Read more

What's your advice to eat after IVF to garantee better result and do you recommend a normal lifestyle or is it better to relax during this period?
Normal Balanced Life: Just be normal; eat healthy, take breaks at work and rest, take it easy at home and try to have a stress free life. Usually just a day or two rest after the embryo transfer is more than enough. At our center we do not recommend sex or lifting above 20 lbs until after the pregnancy test is performed (there is no medical evidence that this improves pregnancy rates but we recommend anyway). ...Read more
