Did Anything I Do While I Was Pregnant Cause Me To Have A Pfo
No: A patent foramen ovale (pfo) is present in all babies prior to birth and just after birth. This hole between the two upper chambers (right and left atrium) closes gradually over time, but in 1-in-7 people it never completely closes. If it is small, it is considered a normal finding. Rarely a PFO is larger than usual and needs to be closed with surgery or, more often, with a catheter procedure. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a condition called vagisms and i was wondering can that cause me to not be able to get pregnant? Will it ever go away? I was pregnant for about a month 5 yrs ago and i didn't know if having this condition had anything to do with it. I am wanting to
Frankly, : Frankly, I am confused. You listed this question under cardiology and asked about vagisms. I am assuming that this is in reference to vaginismus and i will edit this to fall under ob/ gyn and provide a response as such. Vaginismus is when there is involuntary tightness of the muscles around the vagina when intercourse is attempted. It can be very painful. Does this sound like what you were inquiring about? Primary vaginismus is when a woman has never been able to have sexual intercourse because of the severity of the muscle spasm. In some cases the woman might not be able t to insert a tampon or undergo a full pelvic examination. Secondary vaginismus is usually triggered by sometime traumatic, be it emotional or physical. Since you have been pregnant in the past, it sounds like this is secondary vaginismus. The question is more about conceiving than carrying a baby. If the penis is unable to enter the vagina, that would be an issue with becoming pregnant. Secondary vaginismus is treatable. Please talk to your doctor so that she or he can look into the cause. Then your doctor can provide you with some treatment options. If there appears to be a psychological component to vaginismus, your doctor might suggest you talk with a counselor. Be, direct with questions when you talk to your doctor; so that he or she can you give the information you need. Good luck. ...Read more

I am scared to do an HIV test I went to my doctor to do a check he told me no and that I should wait until march to do the test but I am worried what if the symptoms show on me I am really scared and worried I have never been worried like this before in m
Don't delay: Never delay testing for a serious condition because of fear of the result, whether HIV, mammography, colonoscopy, etc. You have HIV or you don't; the test doesn't make you infected. If infected, you have to know. When testing is finally done, anxiety declines even if positive; the uncertainty always is more stressful than the "wrong" test result. If your symptoms are HIV, testing will be pos now. ...Read more

Watch + wait: Most ingested items pass naturally after some time. If you're having no symptoms then I would continue to watch + wait. The signs to look out for are abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, distension of the abdomen and inability to pass stool or flatus. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
How do I know if its my period or a miscarriage?I wouldnt know if i was ever pregnant, i wouldve been 3 weeks but should I get checked? Can they tell?
Period vs. miscarry: If you are or were pregnant a blood test would detect levels of beta HCG in your blood even if it resulted in miscarriage. Depending on how far along sometimes a woman may never know if they were pregnant or not. Our bodies knows if a pregnancy is viable in early weeks and if it isn't a miscarriage may result without anyone really knowing. ...Read more
Think I left tampon inside me how can I be sure I didn't or did had sex last night and I just don't feel right in there not sure if I forgot about it
Exam is best: but you could start with a gloved or cleaned finger inserted in your vagina. If you feel it, you may be able to stroke it down. Unfortunately, if you cannot feel it, it could have been pushed deeper, and only an exam will confirm. There is risk of serious infection if there is a retained tampon after several days. ...Read more

I have an iron deficiency and have heavy long periods, i was told this why i cant get pregnant. What can i do to change that?
First : First of all, if you have any concern of pregnancy then take a pregnancy test. That said, it is extremely unusual to not have a period in two years. I don't know your age or if you are close to menopause. Absence of periods (amenorrhea) can be caused by hormone fluctuations, pregnancy obviously, or by weight changes (too low or too high), or even by extreme stress on the body. If you had normal periods then lost them you must be evaluated by your doctor for amenorrhea. ...Read more
I didn't know I was pregnant and I pulled a heavy pool with water in it and my son, could that cause a miscarriage if I didn't know i was pregnancy?
Wouldn't think so: Once attached to the uterus the embryo is rather well insulated against the normal goings on in a persons life. I've followed a jazzercise instructor through pregnancy that routinely went through more physical maneuvers than a Navy seal and never had a problem.Miscarriage, when it occurs is most often due to a problem with the fetus, not the incubator. ...Read more
