I asked the pharmacy for 100 mg voltaren (diclofenac) but they gave me 100 mg arthrexin, saying it's the same thing. I just realized it's not. Is this arthrexin any as good for severe headache as voltaren (diclofenac)?

Indomethacin: Arthrexin and voltaren (diclofenac) are both non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Either one may help a headache, but if you are having severe headaches it would be a good idea to see a doctor. Also, you listed breathing difficulty and sometimes nsaids bother asthma - another good reason to see the doctor!

Which is better at relieving severe headaches, ibuprofen or diclofenac? Or both maybe? Open to suggestions for alternatives.

Which is better at relieving severe headaches, ibuprofen or diclofenac? Or both maybe? Open to suggestions for alternatives.

Best to diagnose: Severe headaches can be due to migraines, but other causes could be present. Always best to confirm etiology, as treatment success far better in that case. There are downsides to just taking otc nsaid's such as stomach problems, blood pressure elevation, etc. If you do have migraine, prevention with riboflavin, co-q10, butterbur, etc could be useful. Do talk to your doctor about your headaches.

What to do if I have really bad sinus headache/migraine took the sinus relief and didn't help much at all can I take diclofenac?

What to do if I have really bad sinus headache/migraine took the sinus relief and didn't help much at all can I take diclofenac?

ENT doctor: If the pain is refractory to the sinus medications which are designed to decrease the inflammation in the sinuses and thus the pressure, you may want to consult with an ENT doctor. Sometimes patients may need some "extra help" in clearing the sinuses and the ENT doctors may help by surgically removing collections. Also an MRI or ct scan may be done to make sure there isn't some other cause.

Better Dx needed: Headache pain in the sinus implies that toxins, pathogens or allergens are present in the frontal sinus at the sphenoid junction. The proteomic biomarker l-homocysteine can detect and quantify the presence of pathogens (usually a complex mixed infection with bacteria, virus, and yeast). The most common toxins are VOCs (remedy: ChemDetox) and mold (remedy: Cholestryamine).

Is it possible that anxiety goes hand-in-hand with chronic pain? I had a diclofenac shot and not only is my headache gone, but a lot of anxiety too!

Is it possible that anxiety goes hand-in-hand with chronic pain? I had a diclofenac shot and not only is my headache gone, but a lot of anxiety too!

It can: Chronic pain is hard to deal with. Both anxiety and depression can accompany it. Effective management involves investigating and treating the source of chronic pain, and also addressing the associated anxiety and depression. One shot will not cover all those bases, though -- except perhaps temporarily.

Likely migraine, etc: If you've a history of migraines, it's likely a migraine. A migraine can have many preliminary symptoms like visual disturbances, nausea, and "world spinning" which could be interpreted as dizziness. It also could be tension if you're under stress, so see your doctor to talk of possible alternative treatment like ergotamine or Aspirin and/or if it gets worse. Good luck.

Can diclofenac help a toothache?

Can diclofenac help a toothache?

Possibly...: The best solution is to obtain care from a reputable dentist. Diclofenac will not solve the reason why you have a toothache. If you do not have a dentist please do look online for a dentist with really nice reviews. I realize many patients want to fix their dental problems on their own; however, toothaches will not be cured with medications. Medications can mask the symptoms of an infection....
