IBS: or IRRITABLE bowel syndrome is a "diagnosis of EXCLUSION" That means it is made after the colon is found CLEAR of any OTHER reasons for your symptoms (which are pretty "classical" for this diagnosis!!!! Irritable Bowel Syn.: Many things can cause uncontrollable diarrhea. A common cause is ibs. Ibs causes dysfunctional GI problems, ex diarrhea, constipation or both. Cause is unknown but may be stress, certain foods, etc. But there is nothing visibly wrong with your GI tract, so colonoscopy is clear. See a GI doctor: If you have already had a colonoscopy this should have been preceeded by an analysis of the stools, with exam and testing for different organisms which may be causing the diarrhea. If these were not done, go back and be seen by a GI doctor. ...Read more
