Loose stools is a symptom in which a person's stool (poop) does not hold its shape after it goes into the toilet. Instead of remaining a shaped piece of poop, the poop spreads out in the toilet bowl water. Very loose stool is called diarrhea. Loose stool can be caused by infections, certain foods or drinks, ...Read more

Sometimes gall bladder problems cause changes in stool color. ...Read more

Is it possible to have meningitis with 5 days of SEVERE headache and neck ache, but no other symptoms? No fever, nothing.
Not likely: Meningitis can be caused by variety of infectious organisms, especially viruses, but also, bacteria, and fungi. I have almost invariably seen fairly high fevers, significant malaise, nausea, vomiting, confusion, other than immunologically suppressed patients, who early on, seem rather mild. In your case, I seriously doubt you had meningitis, and wonder wonder about migraine. ...Read more

Worrisome...: If a headache is bad enough to awaken you from your sleep, or is very severe, whether frontal or other part of scalp (there are no pain fibers in the brain!), you must see your physician. Most presume a headache is just a headache. But if never evaluated/worked up for causes, particularly if pattern changes, or become more severe, it needs to be. Must rule out brain tumor. Can weaning off Lexapro cause mucus in stool? No other symptoms except mild cramping before bm. No other recent changes except incr. exercise.
Stool mucus: I doubt that this is a withdrawal reaction as you're gradually weaning off the medication. The combination of mild intestinal cramping with mucus mixed with stools suggests irritable bowel syndrome. Do you note similar symptoms when you eat certain foods? Avoid harsh roughage in your diet. If symptoms persist or worsen, see your physician or a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

My calprotectin is 59. Other than occasional mild cramps, no diarrhea, constipation, blood or other symptoms. Other labs all normal. Colonoscopy time?
Not necessarily: I'm not sure why you had a fecal calprotectin performed if you have no symptoms other than cramping. Levels are elevated in inflammatory conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. If you have a family history of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease a colonoscopy could be considered, but will likely be of low yield without additional symptoms. ...Read more
