Does this suggest diabetes? Glucose - 62, Glucose Fasting - 69, Insulin Fasting

Does this suggest diabetes? Glucose - 62, Glucose Fasting - 69, Insulin Fasting

Nope: Those are excellent numbers, even going to a little low. Diabetes is not a concern until your fasting glucose starts going over 100, and it isn't called diabetes until higher than that. A1c would also be much higher (6.5% or above is diabetes, 5.7-6.4% is increased risk, 4-5.6% is normal). Good luck! ...Read more

For gestational diabetes what is 150 sugar level?

For gestational diabetes what is 150 sugar level?

Depends: What your level should be depends on when you took it. The ideal for your sugar before you eat in the morning is about 90. 2 hours after meals should be less than 120 and one hour after a meal should be 130. A1c: If Dad is not taking any insulin he is doing just fine. On the assumption that he is not taking and medicine for diabetes he is OK. If he is on medication for diabetes he should slow down his meds by 50%. PS: If anything, Dad is not a "diabetic". That is a silly term. In type 2 diabetes the theme is "I have diabetes" and the end result is "I am going to beat it!" ...Read more

Have symptoms of diabetes, sugar level is 6.2 fasting.Up to 7 .1 after meal (2hrs) Have Graves' disease.Healthy & fit. Can adults get type 1 diabetes?

Have symptoms of diabetes, sugar level is 6.2 fasting.Up to 7 .1 after meal (2hrs) Have Graves' disease.Healthy & fit. Can adults get type 1 diabetes?

Confusing question: The standard reporting of blood sugar results are in mg/dl.Your stated values are obviously in some other system because that level is incompatible with alertness/ life. Type 1 DM is due to loss of insulin production capability. It could happen at any age, but rarely does in older adults. When it does, the patient can lose 10 lb/week while eating almost continuously. ...Read more

Type 1 diabetic actively exercising & healthy eating looking for right lantus (insulin glargine) dose.

Lantus (insulin glargine) dose: Hi. I applaud you for your healthy lifestyle and dedication to tight diabetes control. Finding the right Lantus (insulin glargine) dose can be trickier than people think, especially for an active type 1. I was on Lantus (insulin glargine) for about 6 years before going on CGM in 2006. CGM is THE perfect way to find the right Lantus (insulin glargine) dose, but not everyone uses CGM yet. Do you? My guess is no, or you'd have dialed in the right Lant dose ...Read more
