Check with pharmacy: SUlfa drugs are a class of drugs called sulfonimides, Terbutaline is not in that class, and the sulfate refers to a part of the terbutaline. Should be ok, but always best to check with the pharmacist, or you obstetrician. Hope this helps! ...Read more

I may have inhaled a lot of raid mosquito spray and now I have a dry cough that won't go away with cough syrup. What medications do I need?

I may have inhaled a lot of raid mosquito spray and now I have a dry cough that won't go away with cough syrup. What medications do I need?

Raid is the problem: The raid spray is irriating your mucous membrane from inhalation, and if gargling with saline rinses don't help, you can call the poison control center (for your state), and they will give you antidotes. Don't believe that cough syrup will work, as it's primarily sugar with some expectorant. Don't delay, so you can start feeling better. ...Read more

Wife having cough since 8th month - delivered on 03jul'13. -ve on blood test. Benylin (dextromethorphan) exp prescribed, but were given diphelin. Is it ok to have this?

Depends. . .: Not sure which benylin (dextromethorphan) product she was prescribed (http://www. Benylin. Ca/eng/products. Asp). Diphelin (http://www. Medpharma-ae. Com/showimg. Php? Id=129) is generally well tolerated by most people (diphenhydramine is sold alone as Benadryl in states). Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine, not antitussive or cough suppressant (unless doc believes cough due to post-nasal drip). Best to find out why cough. ...Read more

Sounds ok: Wine as an ingredient in baked goods should not be in a large enough quantity to interact with other medications. So, if a person is not allergic to wine, and has not had unusual reactions to alcoholic drinks in the past, then eating some cake that has traces of wine should not be a problem. ...Read more
