10 days of provera (medroxyprogesterone) 3 days since my last pill and no period. Negative pregnancy test. Is it still possible I could be pregant? What are my chances?

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctor's office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

I had unprotected sex. Bf came multiple times. I'm under Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) for 3 weeks now. Should I take next choice pill to avoid pregnancy? Orparanoid?

I would: While Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) provides some protection the first month of use, I usually tell my patients to use a back up birth control the first month. The majority of true Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) failures I see are either unprotected sex the first month or getting the shot late or off cycle. If you were my patient I would offer you Plan B or another emergency contraception in this situation. ...Read more

Can having sex everyday on Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) increase your chance of pregnancy?

Can having sex everyday on Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) increase your chance of pregnancy?

In reality, no: There might be a tiny increase due to live sperm being inside the woman all the time. In reality, the difference would be so tiny that the answer is no. That means don't worry about it; don't think about it. If having sex everyday a woman can check to see if she is getting any undesirable vaginal aroma or discharge (due to lots of semen). If so, condoms can help prevent that and prevent pregnancy. ...Read more
