For over a month I have had a stiff neck (or possibly swollen lymph nodes) on my right side and no fever or other symptoms. What could it be?

Be seen: I would certainly consider being seen, particularly if it has not improved over a month. If it is from swollen lymph nodes, these are usually associated with some form of infectious or inflammatory process. The other possibility is that it is related to some underlying abnormality in the spine itself. A detailed exam and appropriate studies would determine the likely cause. ...Read more

Injury from tree between neck and shoulder, severe pain, stiff neck, red itchy rash burns when touched and swollen lymph nodes? Been to chiropractor

See a physician: Nothing against chiropractors but the rash and lymph nodes are not in their field of expertise and should be evaluated by a physician. If the chiropractor has been unable to help with the neck and shoulder discomfort i would take any imaging he/she has done and seek an opinion for an orthopedic doctor. Could be just soft tissue injury or maybe a small fracture. Please see an md for evaluation. ...Read more

Bit by a tick on back of head a week ago, no rash, sore neck, swollen lymph nodes, flu like symptoms, soreness only getting worse. Should I go to er?

Primary Dr can check: On the west coast, the western black-legged tick can bite humans, and can cause lyme disease, after feeding for 24-48 hours. A lab can test such a tick for lyme disease bacteria. The doctor may treat with antibiotics if the lab finds lyme bacteria, if the bite site has a bull's-eye rash, or if there are other worries... Such as a lot of irritation and maybe a skin infection at the bite site. ...Read more

Left shpulder blade pain going into neck. Swollen lymph nodes under arm. Pinched nerve?

Pinched Nerves: Swollen lymph nodes in the arm pit is a concern for a physician. It is possible there are two different pathologies or conditions going on here. From the picture, it looks like there is climbing which could explain shoulder blade pain radiating to the neck and might be a pinched nerve. It would be a stretch to equate a pinched nerve to swollen glands like this. I would see a doctor and soon. ...Read more
