Is it less effective to take vitamin C with juice?

Is it less effective to take vitamin C with juice?

No: It is perfectly fine to take vitamin c with juice. There is a limit to how much vitamin c one can absorb at one time, so it is more effective to take small amounts frequently than large amounts less frequently. See http://ods.Od.Nih.Gov/factsheets/vitaminc-healthprofessional/ for more information. ...Read more

Not needed: You can take it with little likelihood it will harm anything. If you take multivitamins then you should be OK. It is not going to prevent a cold as far as we know scientifically. The hydration part helps the most. I would suggest to start drinking juice to help your system. ...Read more

When I have orange juice(for glowing skin) or anything sour-ish i develop acidity. Any alternatives? I take vitamin C tablets daily. Will that suffice

"Glowing skin" : Is evidence of overall health and orange juice without the fiber is not the same as eating the orange. Taking vitamin c on its own is not good because all the vitamins work as a a team and does not "take you off the hook" of eating an appropriate diet of natural food. ...Read more

Is it possible for vitamin C in orange juice and ascorbic acid to affect high blood pressure medication?

Is it possible for vitamin C in orange juice and ascorbic acid to affect high blood pressure medication?

Yes and no: Vit c in normal doses does not impact BP meds. Orange juice and other sweet liquids (all juice, soda, gatorade, etc) will increase your blood pressure - this will cause a relative decrease in the effectiveness of your meds. Liquids with over 10 cal/serving (except non-fat milk in moderation) are not good for you. Sweets in liquid form increase blood fats, belly fat & ultimately blood pressure. ...Read more

I have my stool light brown color, usually is dark brown. I'm also having a flu and is this from orange juice (Vitamin C) or something else?

Immaterial: The change in the color of the stool you described is not a clinically meaningful issue. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
