Depo Medrol Injection
I had a depo-Medrol injection two weeks ago. I did really well the week. Now doesn't seem to be helping. I thought it stayed in your system for 6 wks?
Results vary: You did not really say where you had the injection or what it was for but results with steroid injections vary. If it was an intramuscular injection to calm down your asthma then it would only be expected to last for a week or two. If it was a joint injection for arthritis then it could relieve the pain for up to 3 months. Even this is variable and people have different results. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Methylprednisolone (medrol) is a steroid. It's in the same family as Prednisone but is a bit more potent. Medrol (methylprednisolone) is used to treat a variety of acute and chronic inflammatory conditions such as asthma, gout, and rheumatoid arthritis. Medrol (methylprednisolone) like other steroids have many side effects especially if used long term. Common ones: weight gain, ...Read more

Imflamation in shoulder and arm muscles for 10 months, Doing a Depo-Medrol injection in shoulders what's my next step if no sucess with injections.
Physical therapy: Intense physical therapy is the next step. That may sound like it would hurt more than help, but nothing is further from the truth. A properly supervised therapy program including stretching, range of motion, heat or ultrasound therapy and strengthening may be more curative long term than the shots anyway. Occasionally, surgery is needed if nothing else is helping. ...Read more
Had depo-medrol steroid injection on19th for allergies. Had shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago. Which painkillers are safe to take? Hydrocodone/acetaminophen?
None interact with: Injection, which is a small amount of drug in one spot and not everywhere. Frankly, the slight risk is the meloxicam (aspirin like drugs potentially increasing the bleeding risk of the injection). then there are separate issues about the safety of narcotics/tylenol/etc cannot say in your particular case, but generally, safe. ...Read more
I received 20mg of Depo medrol ultrasound injection. My question is if my nerve was injected to the median nerve and caused damage would it effect both sides and chest? I've had bulging veins burning pain on fire red when actively using my hands.
No: No, the median nerve supplies the thumb, index, and middle fingers; so even extreme damage to the median nerve would not directly affect the chest. But is possible you had more of a systemic reaction to the steroids you were given, although there are other potential causes as well. I would discuss the specifics of your case with your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
40mg injection depo medrol in ankle today. How long until pain/swelling from injection subsides and positive side affects/inflammation improvement?
A day or so: The swelling from the injection depends on how the injection was given and what the volume of the injected medication is. Steroid starts to work in about 6 hours but the optimal effect is not achieved until about 36-48 hours after.. ...Read more
My husband had bronchitis and he was allergic to voltaren and was treated with a mobic (meloxicam) and Depo-Provera Medrol injection. What will happens to you with this?
My husband had bronchitis and was treated with mobic (meloxicam) and Depo-Provera Medrol injection. He was allergic to voltaren. He died 10min after injection. Why?
AERD?: If your late husband had aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (aerd), he would have reacted with a severe asthma attack to all nsaids other than celebrex (celecoxib). Mobic in low doses is less likely to cause problem in aerd but it still poses a higher risk. If the reaction to voltaren was just hives, then the story would be different. These are just possible answers since I don't know the whole story. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes, it is standard: Each medical provider has their own injection they like to perform, but the combination of a numbing medicine, toradol (anti-inflammatory) and depo-medrol (steroid) is a very common injection. How many Depo-Provera Medrol (methylprednisolone) 40mg injections will get rid of my chronic inflammation of the pisiform bone and the flexor carpi ulnaris? Had 2, no improvement.
Not a good option-: -though steroid injections help, they are also great destroyers of soft tissue as tendons, articular cartilage, , so you should not keep getting them. You are young & the damages can B life long. The tendon may rupture, and the pisoform may loose blood supply. The drugs are great but their use need be judicious. ...Read more
