Is it safe to get a dental extraction while currently recovering from a sinus infection? (on day 3/5 of z-pack.)
Is it possible for the dental surgeon putting medicated gauze pack in wisdom teeth site to prevent a blood clot from forming?
Doubtful: There would be no reason for an oral surgeon to place a dressing in your extraction site to promote more bleeding. If you have a problem following an extraction, call the office that extracted the tooth for further assistance. ...Read more
12 days after dental implant and bone graft and my gums are white and slimy? Is this normal? Swelling has decreased and on z-pack.
Please tell me if I should use hot or cold packs to reduce swelling after my wisdom teeth removal?
Wisdom teeth post op: Initially ice packs. Two bags filled with ice, or ice packs should be applied to the sides of the face. The ice packs should be left on continuously while you are awake. After 24 hours, ice will not help. You may have pain and swelling for a few days. This is a normal reaction to surgery. After 36 hours only moist heat (warm washcloth) is recommended. ...Read more
Hello. I have a lump that's been in my mouth under my teeth in the soft gum part. Some days its inflated, other days, its "deflated" with a rough patch there. I'm a smoker and I smoke on average one pack per day but I've only been smoking for three years.
See Oral Surgeon: Best to get this checked out. Typically we do not see oral cancer with areas that inflate and deflate. Might be a salivary duct blockage or a chronic abscess. Might also be two things simultaneously. As a smoker you are at a much increased risk for oral cancer. Stay smart and get the apt with the Oral Surgeon. Good Luck. ...Read more

Within weeks the periodontist will remove all teeth on UL behind my intact canine. A hole will show when smiling. Will pack bone graft. Cosmetic cover?
Same as before..: You've asked this question earlier regarding a flipper... it is not a terrific idea to have a partial denture pressing down on a bone graft that is trying to heal. It is possible to make a cosmetic flipper that is hollow in that area, is not in occlusion, and has teeth purely for cosmetic purposes. Your restorative dentist and their lab need to design it properly to avoid trauma to the graft. ...Read more
Took a 5-day z-pack post wisdom teeth extraction & and recently finished it. I now have a face rash w/ little red bumps. Why/how can I get rid of it?
Fix it: Chronic dental pain is not a good sign and should be treated. Once the root of the problem is fixed you won't have any pain. There are no good long term pain killers. Every pain killer has a side effect and harms other organs in your body long term. ...Read more

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very normal on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working. ...Read more

Is there any other way to get rid of blue balls without ejaculating? Would any medication work? Could I just put ice packs?
Having lightheartedness and feel surroundings are moving. Did not take any new medication escept for dental work (nerve removal with additional medicin?
Probably, but why?: I think you mean miconazole 3 combo pack. (If you use a dictation speech recognition system, like Siri, you need to read what comes out!) It probably wouldn't hurt to use along with gonorrhea treatment, but it might not be wise. What you think are yeast symptoms might be from the gonorrhea and you may not need the miconazole. Check with the doctor or clinic treating you for gonorrhea. ...Read more

What is the best OTC medication for a patient with dental phobia? Here in pr the dentists don't do oral or IV sedation so I need something good otc.
Minimal: I do not recommend sedating yourself with similar strengths of IV or conscious sedation. It is not safe and you need to be monitored and have crash cart and emergency medications on hand in case you have reactions. You should go to a doctor that is trained with either IV sedation or oral conscious sedation. The doctor should monitor and have emergency protocol in place. ...Read more
