Cn not predict that: Could be later today could be a few weeks, i tell my pts, to call if the contractions are 5 -6 minutes apart for 2 hours in a row or if they hurt bad enough that u want something for pain or if your water breaks, or if u are worried the baby is not moving, and i rec u do not go past your due date , ideal time to deliver is 39-40 weeks, induction is safe easy and effective my pts want induction. ...Read more

Varies: You can expect to lose the weight of the baby plus one or two pounds from the placenta and amniotic fluid. You will urinate off some of the retained water present in your feet and sof tissue. The rest will depend on your diet and activity level. ...Read more

Give it some time: Speak to your obstetrician and make sure that all aspects have been evaluated for the stillbirth. If there was a compromise in the umbilical cord that may potentially give an answer. Also chromosomal evaluation may be helpful along with familial thrombophilia clotting studies. Allow yourself and your partner to grieve the death of the child before jumping into the next pregnancy. Make sure that all potential causes have been evaluated before attempting another pregnancy. I personally would have my patient waited at least 4 to 6 months before trying again. ...Read more

Maybe: The pelvic pressure may be coming from "lightening" or a drop into the pelvis by the baby indicating labor may begin soon. You need to time the "abdominal pains" and if they occur at an interval of 5 minutes or less regularly call your OB MD. ...Read more

Yes: If your baby has good weight and seems fully grown, 37 weeks is probably really 38 . The estimated date of confinement is always an approximate date. Unexplained weight loss: Assessment and Plan: 36 yo woman G2P2 with PMH sig for intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, cholecystitis, s/p cholycystecomy presents with unexplained weight loss, elevated transaminases of unknown level >6 mo,polyarthralgia, fatigue,nausea, and dysmenorrhea. You need to be referred to multiple specialists for evaluation of your medical problems. 1. Gastroenterology/Hepatology- CT/MRI scan of liver indicated ,repeat ERCP if indicated. Consider liver biopsy since liver enzymes elevated >6 months. Evaluate all meds, alcohol use, family history of hemochromatosis, NASH. Serology for TSH, Iron, Ferritin, TIBC, alpha-1 antitrypsin, liver function, Hepatitis serologies, ANA, H. Pylori test, and other labs as indicated. 2. OB/GYN- Your painful periods/ dysmenorrhea can be best evaluated by a OB/GYN specialist. 3. Internal Medicine-workup other causes wt. loss, fatigue, joint pain based on med history/ meds.
