Very low: The pap had some atypical squamous cells of uncertain significance which lead to a hpv screen. The hpv screen was negative for the hpv types being tested. The follow up pap screen was negative and normal which is good news. The likeliness of having cervical cancer with a negative pap screen is very low, especially in the absence of risk factors such as hpv, smoking etc. ...Read more

Period: Hello. If your colposcopy was normal than you do not have cancer. Your GYN will likely recommend an early PAP smear to follow-up on the the one that showed some changes - probably in 6 months. Many times the next PAP smear is normal and you can go back to a normal schedule but it is important that you go to all the appointments and follow the recommendations for future PAP smears. ...Read more

Unlikely: For females that have had normal pap smears and one as recent as one year, it is very unlikely to have cervical cancer. However, it is normal to have discharge postpartum. Yes, rare..., but...: On PAP smear does offer 100% guaranty for not having cancer of cervix since, in life reality, no test has ever yielded 100% of sensitivity or specificity. But coupling (-)-yielded PAP with watery discharge would reasonably sate you have no cervical cancer because recurrent post-coital bloody discharge has been more common. Ask your gyn or PCP if you need to repeat in 6-12 months. ...Read more

If you were my: Patient in coral springs, fl., i would do a culture for many different organisms , probably more than what was checked for, including std and non std bacteria, i would do a colposcopy of cervix to make sure u do not have chronic cervicitis and to make sure no problems in endocervical canal and do an ultrasound to check the endometrium and u may need an office hysteroscopy that would be complete. ...Read more
