Bruise Or Contusion (Definition)
Bruises, or ecchymoses, are discolorations and tenderness of the skin or mucous membranes due to the leakage of blood from an injured blood vessel into the surrounding tissues. Is possible: Typically, the pain of a DVT is there all of the time but is made worse with movement (straightening and bending). If you have leg pain and swelling, you should get it checked out. If you are worried about a dvt, you would be wise to get it checked out anyway--if for no other reason than peace of mind. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Visible superficial vein on right shin when standing or sitting. It's not twisted and doesn't look like varicose vein. Does it require treatment?
Reticular vein.: This sounds like a blue or reticular vein which is larger than a spider vein but not as large as a varicose vein. There is no treatment necessary for this unless you want to remove it because of cosmetic reasons. If you want to eradicate it, then sclerotherapy would be the treatment of choice. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

The lesser saphenous vein starts near the lateral, posterior ankle and extends up to the popliteal fossa (the space behind the knee). Plan: ultrasound to assess for reflux, a baker's cyst or dvt. ...Read moreSee 5 more doctor answers
