Deep Sleep After Stroke
18, 6/7 hrs restless sleep a night wake up breathless anxiety. sleep deprived 3 yrs, mostly go to sleep after 12am. Health effects? cancer cause?
While falling asleep i suddenly couldn't breath/move for 5 seconds. Is it more likely sleep paralysis or apnea? (i don't snore and always sleep poor)

See a sleep dr: What does a 'normal' sleep study mean. To some that means 'no apnea' which is not the only finding to be gained. What was the quality like, what were the latencies of sleep and rem and were there parasomnia. I think u will be OK: Sleep deprivation can up regulate some genes and down regulate others. Poor sleep can cause cognitive impairment, high blood pressure and increase the risk for stroke and heart disease. It can also cause Insulin resistance and increase in a hunger hormone which can cause wgt gain. Some of these effects may be permanent; however, they can be mitigated w/ adequate rest. You need to be seen: With CFS, sleep probs, and now strange symptoms after eating and with exercise and at least one documented elevated BP something might be going on. Reduce all stimuli: it is important to follow a sleep hygiene routine every night by going to bed at a certain hour and cut back caffein or other stimulants in the afternoon and evening hours.
