Not necessarily: It's a good sign your daughter has no fever. If it looks like a cold with a just a runny nose and deep cough, it's okay to wait 3-4 days and see how she does before seeing your doctor. Inhalation pain: This is probably costochondritis. As long as you do not have pain going to your arm or jaw too it is probably just some inflammation between the rib and the pluera. Did you have a cold in the last few day? Any trauma? You could have pulled a muscle. Take some Motrin 600 mg to 800 mg three times a day for a few days and see if it improves.
